A quick list of mods to be used to get up and over 250kw at the wheels

Add in labour costs, fluids, and dyno tunes

Engine: - $11,500

$30 - Ryco Z201 fuel filter, Ryco Z145 oil filter

$200 - Bosch 040 fuel pump with direct battery feed at 13.8volts

$500 - Splitfire coil packs

$20 - NGK BCPRE6 0.8mm copper v-groove spark plugs

$150 - Davies Craig automatic transmission oil cooler upgrade kit

$470 - MV Automatic valve body shift kit & auto service kit

$500 - Koyo Radiator upgrade

$150 - Greddy remote oil filter relocation kit

$20 - Fujimoto sump plug drain valve

$60 - Catch can kit

$150 - Nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator

$250 - Nismo Z32 Air Flow Meter

$230 - 3inch JustJap stainless steel single dump pipe system

$250 - 3inch high-flow metal race cat

$300 - 3inch cat-back exhaust system with Magnaflow mid-muffler and Kakimoto GTR Racing rear-muffler

$100 - Cold Air Radiator air guide for cold air induction

$100 - Apexi power intake pod filter, using standard snorkel air feed & under body feed

$500 - JDM S15 Silvia 450/480cc injectors

$2000 - Ported, Flowed & Machined headwork including new valve seals, valve seats and valve guides

$200 - EPP Clear camgear timing cover

$200 - Cometic gasket kit including rocker cover, intake manifold, intake collector & exhaust gaskets

$250 - Cometic head gasket 87mm x1.2mm

$100 - Aerospeed adjustable exhaust cam gear pulley wheel

$900 - Tomei 256 intake / 256 exhaust poncam gear set

$400 - Tomei 8.8mm high lift springs

$50 - Tomei oil gallery restrictor

Suspension: - $3,500

$1300 - Bilstein front and rear suspension shocks, with ‘lowering’ circlips, using standard springs

$600 - Whiteline front and rear adjustable swaybars

$200 - Dayz adjustable engine swaybar, custom boot swaybar

$1200 - Uwe Jean Ballou R32-GTR 17x9.5 inch rims with Marshal Mactrac TX tyres, 235/45/17

Brakes: - $2,000

$500 - Maltech stainless steel braided brake lines, front and rear

$400 - DBA slotted front brake discs

$100 - Cusco brake master cylinder clamp

$1000 - Panoz Outlaw 4000-series front billet aluminium 4-pot disc calipers w/ Wilwood racing pads

Interior: - $3,000

$300 - SAAS D1 Drift adjustable race seat

$200 - Flynn racing seat rail

$100 - Apexi electronic boost gauge

$200 - 3x 2" DIN gauge setup including boost pressure, oil pressure & oil temperature

$850 - AEM F/IC-8 copgyback ECU with Dell c640 latitude laptop

$350 - Greddy Profec-B spec-ii dual stage Electronic Boost Controller, set to 1.00 bar and 1.20 bar

$1000 - Toshi ecu remap, tuned by Boostworx

250rwkw for roughly $20,000 in parts, plus servicing/labour costs - search ebay for savings

Don't do half that crap listed above. I can not believe someone wasted their time typing all that out. :)

Well lets see your opinion on what to do then :) No including 26 conversion and a 34gtr front end cos not all of us have mega coin to blow! Does look like the hottest stag in aus imo though mate :)

I'd be doing:

3" turbo back

Split Fires (if yours are missing AT ALL)

FMIC

EBC hi at 12 psi

Pod in a box with cold air feed and $5 intake pipe mod

SAFCII and SITC or as you have a S2 get the chip put on the board

Darrin is still running the RB25 Neo. To see 250rwkw and just above can be done on an unopened engine. basically what i will be running is:

- FMIC

- Ecu

- Fuel pump, not because the old one is dying but just for piece of mind

- Injectors

- Turbo upgrade, stock turbo would see 200 but not much more.

- Full 3" exhaust

- Air Filter with CAI

running a safe tune and boost level i hope to see between 220rwkw and 250rwkw. total cost for me, around the 5k mark.

alot of the stuff listed has nothing to do with the power output though, so 20k for 250rwkw is a bit silly to write

rb25's are amazing motors, you don't need to spend alot to get them to 250rwkw - you don't even need to open them!

All that my Neo is getting:

Z32 afm + plug

Apexi PFC

Blitz 525cc injectors

Greddy Fmic

Blitz Nur front pipe + cat back

HKS intake pod

Alloy radiator

HKS GTRS/2535 or similar

Bosch intank pump

Should see over 220+awkw!

Assuming that your exhaust is 3in the main ingredient is a big turbo such as GT 3076 (or even a GCG highflow) and you should get over 240awkw. You could save money by getting a nistune instead of the PFC and spending the money on the turbo! (Oh and get a boost controller instead of the radiator).

To get to the higher figure you may need an uprated afm.

Sounds literally exactly the same as a Neo engine I know :) My advice though, get the GTRS instead. The 2535 is great, but you'll end up wanting more :(

mate you can do it for 5grand

obviously my list is the whole thing, suspension,brakes,engine,electronics, 15k to 20k depending how you do it

it is a simple list & of course most parts arnt needed for power production - its not rocket science (ie braided brake lines wont net 1billionty kw)

Already got Pfc fitted and tuned, Injectors and Z32 awaiting bigger turbo!

Need a radiator as seeing 96'c and Qld summer coming up!

Hi guys, Ive got a 99 Stagea RS Four S and im wanting to start building up an engine, ive found a 25det neo with 89,000kms for $2000. Just wondering what aftermarket parts i should get, nothing too expensive.

I don't want to spend heaps, Don't really know what my budget is yet. just looking around 260kw mark atm. I wasnt meaning opening it up. Just external stuff

FMIC, bigger injectors (480cc),new fuel pump, bigger turbo (hiflow), engine management (Nistune), 3" turbo back exhaust would be the most basic modifications required.

You can choose, bigger and better items but that is a basic starting point.

    • I'd use any fuel safe foam....mine went in 15 years and 15 rebuilds ago, still getting reused I'd have to say I don't understand swapping to studs to fit a particular baffle unless you are having a massive blowby issue, and even if you are addressing crankcase not head breathing is probably the next step.
    • BTW, the reason I came in here to "update" this list was that the Garrett G Series II range have been released and I've updated the list with their flow details if you're curious to check how they fit with previous Garretts and other brands The G-Series II G35 990 looks like a banger...
    • Hi all, I thought I'd put one of these references in here before but it seems I haven't - not sure how many people are actually using this place still but I feel like there are guys lurking about who might find this reference useful or interesting.  A lot of the time people don't catch key details or even fully understand how compressor maps work - or don't even look at them and just go from heresay about deciding how different turbos may compare, but I've been putting together this table over the years as a quick reference to get a gauge of how certain compressors compare to cut down the time that can be wasted looking around aimlessly. * This relates purely to compressor flow, so won't necessarily reflect the outright capabilities of these turbos as the power potential also comes down to the turbine side.  If you understand this, you should be able to use this 😃 * The inducer and exducer size listed are the mm of just the compressor wheel * The values under the "psi" headings are "lb/min airflow" and reflect the maximum airflow that compressor supports before it's efficiency dips under 65%, or it reaches it's maximum speed - whichever comes first. Any questions, or requests for other turbos which the compressor map is available for then let me know 🙂
    • And what you pay for a pack of 8 bolts and nuts at Bunnings, will land me 200 of the same nuts and bolts from a fastener shop.   M12 * 1.25 IS a standard. It's not like ordering M12x1.25 and hoping the thread pitch is right. Unlike ordering an ounce, will get you 4 different amounts depending on which ounce someone takes it to be. Your issue is a supply issue.
