staying away from the pole is a step forward...

the pulsar definatly has more potential if you wana push it harder

Oh definitely, it will with a manual behind it which will happen sometime next year. It didn't help that the auto was on the way out from when I started DECA that morning. The last battle finished it off. I was really slow and cautious on Long Wang for obvious reasons.

Manual + a bit more skill and hopefully I'll do better next year.

All you guys just take it too seriously.

The more mods i done to my car, the slower i got and the MORE FUN I HAD!! :D

People are wasting money buying semi slick for DECA, i just throw on the cheapest pair of tyres, on the rear, and do my best to hold a slide, when i spin (note i didn't say "if i spin") i do my best to make some smoke and put on a show :)

hehe... if my car had made it i had stockies with me for smoke+limiter fun

i can have a sook about a few things but as Al said its all fun n games.....no1 gonna win prize money, so go out there and have some fun....

btw hayley, were some of those photos taken by hien? (in your sig)

on the contrary, i dont think deca could be any less serious. the competition side of things are very relaxed. to compete doesnt mean you are going for number 1 spot, its also when you are taking on cars that are similar to yours. its when you get beaten by that similar car that you try that little bit harder and learn more about you and your car the next time.

Ripped it off with your helmet? I swear until my helmet was worn in that it was going to rip my ears off every time!

Are you pulling the helmet straps out to the side as you take it off? It helps if you don't already do this. I know when I first started wearing helmets I used to just pull it off quite painfully, but tugging on the straps clears the ears pretty well!

Each to their own, some people go to DECA to get the best times they can, which is fine, some go just to rip it up and/or put on a show...

Haha - I go to get the best times I can but try to put on a show at the same time!

But mostly I go to beat Chris. :)

I'm with you Andrew...not that I've been to many DECAs at all (read: one), but when I was there I tried for best times on the skidpan (too scared to push the wangs in my daily driver lol) and I was more impressed with seeing quick runs than skidpan antics...but a combination of both is a nice mix for a day of car action.

Yep I worked that out after the first couple of times of having burning ears hehe. The helmet was still quite a firm fit at first but now it is very snug and comfortable after only the first few times I put it on and took it off.

With the insane heat we had, having a camelbak in the car made it very easy to drink with a full face helmet on; the mouthpiece can be passed up from underneath the chin.
