ecu test results - Knock Sensor (34)

Ok I did the ecu test.

came up as 34 - Knock Sensor

This would be the reason for my missfiring problem i guess...

How do i fix this problem?

O2 sensor test -

Flashed on and off, so this is fine.

If i was you i would first test the wiring, if that is fine its time for a new knock sensor, and yes a faulty knock sensor can cause a missfire.

2, how much is a knock sensor?

3, where do i get 1 from?

4, can i put it in myself? If not, who can?

You can actually hook up a 1M ohm resistor into the harness and it'll fool the ECU into thinking its working. That should buy you some time before you can find another KS to put in.

Also if your ECU detects a bad KS, then it retards the timing alot, resulting in lost power etc...

would he have to order a new knock sensor in? or would he have some already?

How much would it cost to fix????

Im getting the dump/front and highflo cat & fmic on this weekend and i will want to fang it a bit... But i dont think i should or will it be ok?

a knock sensor aint dat cheap...... new dat is

on my car its built into the distributor and nissan had no idea wot i was talking about and wanted to charge me $1000 ffs

i then went to wreckers and they wanted a second hand one for $150.

Then it has to be put in.... Is that hard?

no not really. Just be wery exact with the tourqe on the bolt.

yer i would realy like to do this myself, but i dont even know what they look like or where they go, so i might have to get a mechanic.
