Equinox
Take the hats and springs off and put the shocks on a shock dyno. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/295455-how-to-check-the-used-suspension/#findComment-4927441 Share on other sites
benhpi
Check the dampers (shocks) for any signs of leaking or visible wear on the shaft. Turn the shock upside down and use your weight to compress it. Each damper should take about the same amount of consistent effort to compress. They should then return by themselves to full extension fairly quickly. If some take a lot longer (or don't come back) they could be worn out. Make sure any damper adjustments are set to zero when you do this check. A shock dyno is of course much better but not free.
