Hehe,

I never knew how quick the 1600 really was or could be.

I just thought the MGB could help attract chicks haha.

I mean, some of my peer group had a Lotus Europa, Datsun 2000 Fairlady, Pontiac TransAm, EH 179, XU-1 Torana, Fiat 124 Coupe, Morris Major lol...

1st car - Series 3 Bluebird TRX. CA20 was a great motor to learn with, couldn't get in too much trouble! lasted a year till i swapped it over with an SR20DET  all was rosie till it got t-boned one night.

2nd car - Nissan N14 Pulsar Ti SR20DE+-T (i turbo'd it, then de-turbo'd it :D) still own it

3rd car - Land Rover D1 Discovery. current daily. slow as balls but turbo diesel gets me 10l/100km. in a 2+tonne car, can't complain!

After a thread in the Vic section I'm actually curious to know about your first cars. Were they turbo or non-turbo?

A far stretch from the supposed 75% of us who drove a high powered vehicle on their P plates lol. Good thread mate :)

would have been more interesting to have seen who drove turbo cars on their p's.

haven't bought my first car yet but it ll be turbo, that's for sure.

Only problem with that is it used to be legal to drive a turbo on your P plates, as long as it was under the power to weight ratio! But this thread will pretty much tell you that information anyway.

Might as well join the club:

1. 1994 Holden/Opel/Vauxhall Calibra (ongoing rebuild project / reducer of bank balance since writing it off nearly 5 years ago)

2. 1995 Skyline R33 GTS-T Series 1.5 (current daily)

And I've slutted around in so many cars before buying the Skyline that I've lost count of how many / what.
