Good stuff Paul!

We just finished mine tonight about 9pm. There was a tiny bit of foam when we bled the coolant so i think the head has lifted a little or the headgasket has the smallest leak.

Either way im out there in it tomorrow, hopefully it holds together. Low boost for now i think. But make sure you are next to me if i turn the wick up :P

Its been a bad year for breakages up and down pit lane.

Good to hear Dave!! Phew!

Tell me about it with the breakages though, In my garage we had a head gasket go, a turbo cease and a car that has been on jacks most of the powercruise. Lucky Sammy was there to support me. Big missions today driving around getting bits, but hopefully I can make up for it tomorrow.

Slowed right down this arvo and ripped a big anti-lag 3rd gear skid in front of the pits to make sure everything was ok haha.

What a finish to the week, but sadly GAMES OVER :D but had a ball. Heres my run down.

Wednesday Picked up the car from CRD after tune and service. rm to finish the front bar as parts werent to Pete's standard so he had them repainted.Bed around 1am

Thursday Up at 4am in order to finished work early & get new tyres & put mate gearbox back in after he brock 2nd gear previous night. We made it to the track around 5pm cars passed and we done the drivers brief. Home to detail car, bed around 2am

Friday Started work 5am in order to get to playing at the track. Got to track after lunch and the fun began. Only bad part was battery desided to pack it it so organised for a new one to be dropped to my place. Had a ball for the rest of the day. Got home late and to modify the battery tray to fit the new Optima in the boot. Bed around 2:30am

Saturday Up at 6am breaky etc and got to tyre shop before they opened only to find everyone in town was in same idea...dam! Then nice boy removing wheel doesnt put key in wheel enough so flares the key out to the point in jams in the rin near solie...(oh so happy I walk away before snaping his neck) Upon returning to the car I say to the boy and his boss enoughs enough move it. I had to knock the key onto the nut with a hammer to undo the nut then knock the key and nut out with a pin punch. Finally arrive at the track around 12 to line up for drags only to be told no your now the front of the Powerskids (dam) finally get out there, lights up 1st then syncros deside no entry to 2nd..... Went out and played in the cruise later to stir the boys with powerskid drags...lol great smoke show on the 2nd last straight. Unfortunately couldnt fix the syncros for the finals so here I sit wounded....but still happy as having some of the big V8 boys try draging me down the 2nd last straight only to be over taken by a GTR with the tyres smoking the tyres."Their faces were to be the best photos...ROFLMAO" :D

Good luck to all  Im booking in ASAP for the next cruise only getting a garage next time ($500/car is steep but you see eveerything and no line ups). Now got to get ready for Twight Track evening at the Creek this Wednesday.

What an epic weekend!

The engine was all good this morning besides an exhaust manifold gasket leak, which made it a bit laggy off boost and sounded a bit like a tractor. But at 4000rpm had all boost and power.

Got booted out of the first cruise session at the end for drifting the whole last corner in 3rd, smoke show!

Would like to thank all the boys in my garage for the helping hands getting me sorted for Sunday!

Also congrats to PJ for coming 3rd outright in the drags! With the dramas he had it was good to see the car hold up.

And one of the highlights for me was Mamoun in his stock engine GTR with 2530s win the drags yesterday only to be beaten today by half a car length by a full on drag car with chutes and wheelie bars!!!

i'll probably upload a few pics here tomorrow. I've got some of the PJs S13, the Evo 3, justins 33, seans 33.

im keen to see if you got any pics of my gsr/evo3 the charcoal one.

i flogged a silver r33 in the drags, anyone from here? plates were DR-33-GT i think. keen to know what it had under the hood...

Thanks Dave :)

I had an awesome day, definitely made up for the dramas over the weekend which put me out of the drags and Powerskid on Saturday.

Definitely will be back next year! It was my first time entered and I was paranoid about other people on the track but I found just about everyone to be aware of their surroundings which made it much more relaxing.

Would love to see any other pics/vids if anyone else has them! Thanks for posting MatBoy.

Check out my powerskid today

    • I know this one’s the BB one. My tuner did make mention about the actuator. I am curious about the VCT as well
    • Might also needs a stronger actuator with the right preloading. With older 2019 built bush G3 units, BB upgrade or 21U housing down size makes a pretty decent gain in response as well.
    • Hey lads  so im finally putting together my rb30 forged bottom end and ran into an issue. I measured my main bearing clearance with arp main studs torqued to 60 ft-lbs using ACL H series STD size bearings and standard, un-ground crank shaft journals and got an oil clearance reading of about 1.3 thou measuring straight up and down and about 2.8 thou measuring at a 45 degree angle (just above and below the parting line). My machine shop said they measured the main tunnel and it was all within spec (they didnt say the actual measurement) and to go with a standard size bearing, which i have done and the clearance is too tight, I'm guessing because of the extra clamping force from the arp studs distorting the main tunnel. I was wanting to run about 2.5 thou main bearing clearance.  My questions are: 1. could i just use the HX extra 1 thou clearance ACL bearings? that would fix my straight up and down clearance making it about 2.3 thou, but then would the side to side clearance be too big at around 3.8 thou? 2. what actually is the recommended main bearing clearance for measuring near the parting line / side to side. i know its supposed to be bigger as the bearing has some eccentricity built into it but how much more clearance should there be compared to the straight up and down measurement? at the moment there is about 1.5thou difference, is that acceptable or should it be less? 3. If i took the engine block + girdle back to the machine shop and got them to line bore the main tunnel (like i told them to do the first time, but they said it didnt need it) what bearing size would i buy? the STD size bearing shells already slide in fairly easily with no real resistance, some even falling out if i tip the girdle up-side-down. If im taking material out of the main tunnel would i need a bearing with extra material on the back side to make up for it? this is probably confusing af to read so if something doesn't make sense let me know and ill try explaining in a different way. My machine shop doesn't come back from christmas break until mid January, hence why i'm asking these questions here. TIA for any help or info
    • I bought the model back in Japan in Feb. I realised I could never build it, looked around for people who could build it, turns out there's some very skilled people out there that will make copies of 1:1 cars or near enough. I'm not really a photo guy... but people were dragging me in a group chat for the choice of bumper as someone else saw the car before it was finished as they are also a customer of that shop. I took the photo in the above post because I was pretty confident that the lip would work wonders for it. Here's some more in-progress and almost-done pics. It gives a good enough idea as to what the rear looks like!   I have also booked in a track day at the end of January. Lets all hope that is nothing but pure fun and games. If it's not pure fun and games, well, I've already got half an engine spare in the cupboard
    • Well, do ya, punk? Seriously though, let's fu<king go! The colour and kit looks amazing on the car. Do you have any shots from the rear? I don't quite follow how the model came around. You bought the white kit and he modified it to match your car? Looks nuts either way!
