easy on the v8 bogan talk lads, im starting to take it personally lol. the cruise sessions were fun, by far the quickest car i ran was the 426ci shelby cobra replica. it was quick.

highlight of the weekend was chopping the lambo.

didnt really get to mix it with any of you guys, even 2rismo kept his distance, which was a good thing as i didnt want any panel damage.

off street drags was hard, struggled for traction, even 2nd gear started my 2nd run, no good. at least i know it will turn them into 4th. not sure how i will go with standing start stuff.....big problems.

but had fun and love the track. cant wait to attack it with less traffic.

i flogged my share of V8 monsters in the drags and cruise sessions but i had more fun flogging the imports in the cruise sessions cause they were more street orientated, 95% of the V8's on track had big top loaders, superchargers and carbys hanging out 2ft in the air, massive 10inch slick or bigger, open exhaust/no exhaust running c16 or similar so it isnt exactly a fair fight 90% were either "shed" machines (not street machines) dyno queens or trailer queens so being able to keep up or get 2-3cars pulled on you isnt that bad at all...

but yeah still fun to give it to the v8 boys  i will be back again next year and the plan is to have another 50-80kw at least which should see me in with more of a chance and to flog the guys that flogged me. but the reality is that its powercruise, there will always be someone faster than you there - 500hp street rego'd cars vs 2000hp fully blown drag cars....

    • I've already gone over the cam. A new one is going in. An old one is coming out! The new one is smaller, with less overlap. It has way more lift, but it will be more mild mannered (hopefully, probably very minorly) I'm also measuring for two more mufflers, with the goal of having four mufflers in my car. But that probably will be done by an exhaust shop in a drive in, measure, buy parts, install parts later kind of deal.
    • Mine is not even a GTR and I've been resisting the urge to make it a power monster for the last 25 years. And as a consequence, I have driven it to work nearly every day across that span of time.
    • Since the motor is out, I suggest pop in a nice dirty LS chop cam. MOAR of this please:
    • This.. no one is going into it wanting to "build" a fast track car, because let's be honest you can buy a i30N or Type-R lawn mower and both will destroy a R32 GT-R (even with mild mods) around a circuit.   Greg is on the Gregging money here.   If you love your R32 GT-R, just leave it stock and enjoy it and If you want a fast car to play with and hit the track with, just put aside $80K for a M2 Competition and keep the R32 GT-R as a weekend cruiser. Same outcome (you have a R32 GT-R and you have a fast track car) really.
    • In a few years from now, you'll regret that. It'll eat away at you, knowing the truth of the ugly hiding beneath the beautiful exterior... 😛
