Timing Belt/Cam Belt

Hi all,

Need to service my car soon as its been 5000kms. I have a question regarding the difference between a timing belt and a cam belt if any. The guy I normally take to service the car said I need to change my cam belt. Now they replaced the timing belt for me 6 months ago, are they both different belts?

Yep mate same thing, im just doing one in mine now.

they only need to be replaced every 50-100,000 Kms not sure someone may be able to help me out there.

i doubt u would do that much in 6 months.

yea timing belt needs changing every 100ks...

just a question randymoss did u change d seals as well ?

Make sure your brake/clutch fluid is clear. I'm going to have to start flushing mine every few thousand kays as it keeps going black.

If you really want to you could also do your power steering fluid. Take it to Midas and get them to use their flushing machine.

i am approaching 100k clicks and even though i have no signs of wear i will be changing the timing belt and the water pump together...
