Is spectators allow? If so how much is gate entry ticket? Anyone know a decent hotel near by?

Thanks

go to superlap.com.au and the prices are there. If you order them online before the 13th you get a discount on entry.

no idea on hotels around there.

its easy solved just run less front torque. the rear diffs are pretty much indestructable (only about 5% smaller than ford 9") and the driveshafts are OK but casn be upgraded.

the problem is....the more fwd, the quicker they go....so in an event like this they have to run 50/50 and hope for the best.

plenty of options for driveshafts, just jap even have billet stuff on the shelf. its the front diff that is the big issue.

where is lofty....how are you guys going with front diffs....you guys have by far the most experience with trying to put big power thru the front in circuit use.

bingo! duncan has hit it.. like you say it's easy fixed by less front drive and kinder shaft angles but then you'd end up with a standard height GTR with lots of oversteer and nice and slow...

like lofty obviously knows too basically the more front drive you can dial in the faster you go. downside is cvs breaking and if you beef them up then expect to bust a front diff or two out of the case (marks done that before but not in the 34). and with the front diff being housed in the sump assembly it's not something you can easily strengthen. maybe a full custom CNC billet sump would do it but fark I can't imagine the complexity of machining and the cost. my god man the cost!

everyone has been there and done it. garage saurus run their famous orange time attack GTR in full time 50/50. wont tell me how they get diffs to last but I imagine they limit front drive under braking too like dave explained.

as benno says mark has it well sussed with a similar system. this particular failure could be down to anything.

I hear the Panspeed RX7 is in a container and on its way, after receiving a nice freshen up, including a new Hollinger (replacing the Hewland)

Me too mate, great things to drive :P

We're on the hunt for somewhere to test Hollywood's 32 after it's rebuild and new Hollinger in a couple of weeks. Lakeside or Morgan Park most likely. I'll make a point of checking the brakes too.

go the RWDs! The RX7s are carrying my hopes! Will be intersting to see how the NSX goes too. but the 900-1000bhp falcon I can't imagine being very competitive. Would have been better off keeping the V8 donk and spend as much time as possible tuning the car on those tyres at Eastern Creek I reckon, rather then building and fitting a kick ass I6 turbo motor.

And it would have been nice to have a NA V8 in Pro class.

pan speed RX7 is turbo, not NA 20B.

the pan speed car is one of my favourites. some pics I took of it at a Tsukuba hyper rev event. they are nice guys too.

I reckon the pan speed RX7 will be in the top 5 for sure. it's a very quick car and a good team behind it. It will be one of the quickest RWD that's for sure.

    • Meh. Every single gear in my gearbox will crunch. I've been treating it nicely for >12 years now.
    • How fast are you doing the downshift? 4th gear was revised multiple times until 1998 to fix this issue. Synchro clips can fall out, synchros can wear. Most likely you're looking at a new transmission unfortunately. If you need to limp it until then double clutch downshifts into 4th.
    • Sorry I was being harsh there, but am I wrong? You can buy a M340i easily, and there's loads available second hand. A lot more workshops modifying them as well. How about getting parts for them? Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 400R, even a 4cyl (I looked at a few V36s before buying my shitbox BMW). Sadly Infiniti died in Aus and we're stuck with importing them as niche vehicles. Supply and demand
