IM-32-FK
Quite recently i was caught driving on a turbocharged R32 gts-t on my p plates. I got off lucky though because i was only warned and not charged(gave the copper a good story about how i was trying to sell it). So i sold it a week ago for $7000. The same friday, i bought a n/a r32 gts. The car already has a exhaust system but it a cheap buzzy one. I was wondering what kind of exhaust system would be the best for this car? Im thinking about going to Liverpool Exhasut and tell them to make me a custom one for $1300(thats what i got quoted)... Whats the best size? also, i want to change the intake system at the same place. Can i put the pod filter outside under the chassis? how much of a performance boost will i get doing this? whats the best oil brand to use on a na rb20? IM-32-FK
Also, which is better - cannon or muffler?(performance wise) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/296455-what-type-of-exhasut-system-is-best/#findComment-4938852 Share on other sites
VashR31
2L na, get a 2.25" exhaust the whole way for back pressure, some nice extractors, and a small muffler. As for intake, standard airbox works better than a pod in the engine bay, the cooler the air the better. You wont get any huge increase in power, but it will help the car "breathe" better. Probs change the oil, change the spark plugs and she will love you for it. Cannon exhausts are big and hollow mainly used for forced induction cars... And red P platers that what to be heard. meadan
I wouldnt get a custom exhaust made for a rb20de. $1300 is alot for the amount of gains you will get over what you have. Maybe look at putting on a stock gtst or gtr exhaust, or find soemthing a bit nicer on the wallet. _bobo_
1300 is quite a lot mate. cannon > resonator > 2.5 inch piping mild steel> cat > installation of extractors costed me around $700-800 and couldnt hve asked for a better job. mind you im in vic tho. AndreW_R32
im getting rid of my old stock exhaust on my n/a r32 rb20de and sometime this week ill be putting a 3inch cat back and 3.5inch muff and that should be good. one of my friends has a 180sx n/a with a 4inch cat back the thing still goes better then it did with the stock exhaust, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/296455-what-type-of-exhasut-system-is-best/#findComment-5109242 Share on other sites
The Bogan
You could fix it up by just changing the mufflers if you dont want to spend to much money for a small increase in powah. Also cannons are ok if your gay Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/296455-what-type-of-exhasut-system-is-best/#findComment-5109247 Share on other sites
