Indiactor Problems

my front bar was ripped off a little while ago and ripped the indicators off and broke the wires

i recently got a new front bar put on and i connected up the indicators again

but now all the indicators across the whole car flash really fast but when i put hazzards on they flash at a normal pace

does anyone know how to solve this ?

lower resistance in the new indicators you installed - hapens with led's mostly run a search for how to put in the resistors

bit of a stupid question

but what is a resistor and where do i get it and what ecaxtly does it do

im hopeless when is comes to wiring things up

When a indicator bulb stops working, the dash blinkers speed up by alot to tell you that a indicator bulb needs replacing. The system expects a certain wattage bulb, using one that is more or less watts will still make it blink abnormaly..

Need resistors to compensate for that different wattage I think Craved is trying to suggest.

From memory, all you have to do is solder a resistor onto the wires going into the indicator bulb.

You may even be able to buy some that just clip on to the wire itself.

??? the vibe i got is you are using the same wire and same lightbulbs, is thi the case? if so its more likely there is an exposed wire somewhere and its earthing.

if you have changed bulb watt or using different wire then yeah its a resistance thing

yeah im using the same wire

but new bulbs im going to take it to an auto electrician tomorrow

electircs are too much for me to get my head around
