At the beginning of the clip they said the motor already had a stuffed rotor so they would have had to repair it anyway.

I couldn't believe how long it lasted either. I went to a wreckers engine blow up day quite some time ago where the had engines in a cage and opened the throttle up.

The engine that hung together the best was the ol 186. The 202's threw rods the 250ford's just died in the arse then came back to life, the 250's did that for quite some time until the rev's died and didn't recover.

V8's.. OMG they didn't last 2 seconds with the throttle strapped flat out. The 4cycls did pretty well but didn't like the valve bounce at all.
