Dear members,

I have an rb20det engine problem...

The bearings in the block are apparently gone... but i dont know if i should get a new engine or just replace the block which is cheapest or if it'll run fine if i just change the block maybe there's more problems... but i was also thinking to just get an rb25det??

could somoone help out? how much is the cost for an rb25det and how much could i get a rb20det block for an r32 gts4 which is cheapest...

+1 for the 25. much nicer engine. more power up top and much more power down low. however i would go all out and get a halfcut so you can get the stronger gearbox as well (just noticed you mention a gts-4, so i'm not sure how compatiable the rb25 box is to the rb20, or if there is even any difference with the gts-4 boxes between the 20 and 25).

Since you mention GTS4, unfortunately you can't just drop anyold RB20 or RB25 in, as the 4WD sump is different from the RWD. You would either need a RB20DET from another GTS4, or a RB25DET from a 4WD Stagea, or else you will have to get adapter plates etc... that's how I understand it anyway.

Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it...

Still deciding and save up money...

my mates friends owns a r32 just recently fitted an rb25det and still using the standard rb20det gtst gearbox and standard loom!!

i think the nistune would be useful to install??

Always wondered if you could get a modern GTS4 in 2.5t using a combo of parts fromt the stagea etc, probably not worth doing over an RB26 conversion though, although you would get VCT and Neo motor!!!
