Nick I was thinking exactly the same thing. The genuinely stinking rich never seem like it when you speak to them, its when you look carefully at what they DO that you start to get a clue as to their wealth. The others that bang on and on about it are the ones that generally have nothing but a big mouth

I dont care what I sound like buddy. Like I said, some work smarter, others work harder.

As an example, last financial year I shelled out over $4000 to the ATO because I was lazy and didnt bother keeping receipts or writing things off on tax.

This year ATO gave me over 100 bucks back even though I made the same amount of money through personal sales... just an example.

No one is dodging anything.

Tax breaks? Bring them on, its again people like you who will have to pay more in taxes, the pensioners and the jobless need support and its guys like you who pay their way mostly.

Your skyline can have 1000 BHP, its still a skyline.

Yes, family, friends pets and health are very important to one's happiness but there are other things that can make life much sweeter...

Stuff like not having to get up and go to work everyday just to pay for rent/mortgage, bills and food. And going on holidays when you want to while your cash flow is still coming in without you being at the office or behind the counter. This may be hard for you to fathom, but you can make money passively.

They be Amway words my friend...quit regurgitating your seminar material.

ps why does every thread in this section turn into financial dick swinging contest!

Cause it's a forum section devoted to a circa $170,000 car...plonked in the middle of a circa 5k-40k car forum. You can't mix those demographics with the idea of free public speech and expect to come out of it without dicks in full view :P

Sorry to hear about the rabbit.

As you said, its about having life's priorities in order, health and family are first and foremost.

That said, Simon is still waiting on his Zipp 1080's. :P

How is the GT2 travelling? Will see more of its progress on the 6 no doubt.

Tell Simon to print & cut out the attached pic. :D Big Ben now has about 5 sets of Zipps....& about 8 new bikes. Ask Benny for one of the spare bikes.

GT2 finally going again tonight. RS Tuning Germany screwed the first flash. Dashboard was like a Christmas tree with error codes.

Your rabbits are quite cute, what did Twitch die of mate?

Last Monday Twitch went in for surgery to remove two titanium pins from this front leg. I step on his leg four months ago. Surgery was 100% successful. All looked great until Thursday am when my wife noticed he looked listless. He was taken to the emergency vet centre in Frankston then transferred to the Melbourne rabbit clinic in Hallam. X-rays showed he had developed an intestinal blockage. The family visited him before surgery @ 10.30pm. Surgery finished at 1.00am with positive signs. Twitch passed away at 4.30am. These little creatures quickly find a way into our hearts.

Hahah will do, I'm going to email it to him. He'll cack himself, from what Sim has said he'd be better off if Big Benny shipped him up his legs rather than a new bike! He's had a few dramas with one of his dogs this week Simon as well which isn't good and hasn't been doing any riding at all since October or so.

Good to hear about the GT2 getting sorted, does it cop a big power hike just from the flash? Or are you going exhaust as well?

I'm debating doing it with mine (the flash) but am worried about the extended warranty, can the dealer tell its been flashed easily?

Thats the problem with keeping small pets. I used to have ratties and they are awesome pets too... its tragic that they live only for 2-3 years max usually.

PS my ex GF had a pet rabbit and the poor thing contracted that deadly virus where the face literally falls off... she had to put him down at a vet... was absolutely devastating for us.

Sorry to hear, these things are always more of a "downer" than you'd think!

I have had pets die in the past and its definatly not something you'd want near Christmas.

Please keep us updated on the GT2 :D

Doing the RS Tuning stage 2 as a first step. 441KW / 811NM.....will look at new Secan intercoolers later, but @ AUD 25K for two intercoolers it is very hard to justify at the moment. Will install the 100 cell cats & headers first week of 2010. If you are worried about warranty I would buy a spare ECU & have it match to the car. Yes the flash is visible to the dealer if they go looking.

That's some nice kit!

I reckon your right, a spare ECU could be the way to go at some point, or just wait until the warranty expires.

Not too many tuners locally from what I've seen that'll actually tune the car on a dyno, probably something to look into later.

440+kw, that's quite a big leap. The torque would be the best part however! It should sound tops with the 100 cells.

So, I take it the ECU is installed and rocking along? Impressions?

If you ever take it to the drag strip down there and want to do one of those 60-130 runs (it'll trap over 130 mph with that much power) let me know and I'll have Simon ship down my Performance Box to Ben's place or yours for you to have a go with.

A dyno tune is always going to be the best way, and there are a few of us that can do this for the GT2, at least one I know of in Sydney, One in QLD, and of course us in SA. You will find that with a 'canned' flash tune on a GT2, your 440kw claim at the crank will turn into around 310kw at the rear wheels, or around 25kw at the wheels over stock :P

Agree custom dyno tune is the best method. But find me an Australian based tuner who can tune this thing & have the appropriate cooling capacity for a GT2 to replicate 200 kmph without inducing heat sink.

What platform are you using to tune the 997 GT2? Can you please share data from previous dyno tunes.

Thanks

Seat of the pants is always difficult….can feel the additional low/mid torque. But Performance Box data is the best method. Will give additional comment after cats & headers are fitted.

Will check with Ben re fan capacity. If he has the cooling capacity will put it on the dyno for the hell of it.

Keeping a 997 cool on the dyno isnt overly difficult, you just need the right number of fans and ducting

Whilst not in the business of disclosing our full IP on the tuning side, we do use the most advanced tools available for editing the raw native hex code back up with a top of the line OLS real time emulator :)
