Hiya all,

I'll be picking up a manual AWD box for the stagea this week sometime, together with all the additional bits I need for the swap. Just wondering if anyone has done this kind of swap before, and if they would have any suitable premises for such work. My house is under construction for a house extension, so there is no room for me to do it there ... and I think Tracy has banned me from doing such work at home :D

I'm no stranger to working on cars, but wouldn't mind a hand for ease of work and a speedy job ... plus its always best ofr another set of eyes to be going over the job. Not too keen on paying a workshop to do it ... but not keen on doing it alone ... so aiming for somewhere in the middle!

There's a carton of beer in it for any assistance. I'm keen to start (and finish) the swap not this weekend, but the next. 33 is sold, so the Stag is my daily.

;)

You'd be handy if you had an engine hoist :(

Should be picking up the box and bits tomorrow arvo ... then I can see how much trouble I've gotten myself into. :P

you after a engine crane ruby ? i have one here at home if ya need to borrow one

Hmm, I won't say no if you do have one. I'll hunt for a venue to do the swap, and if they do not have one handy I might just hit you up for it!

Figured I might just pull the engine and box out complete, swap boxes, double check bolt on bits on and around the engine, then put everything back in ... to eliminate the need for a hoist and multiple persons to hoist the box in place.

the 5th and 6th of December? I can always come round to talk shit, and hand you spanners. Thats all ill be good for
Drop the engine and box out...

Far out! Not how I'd be doing it but shall be interesting. Perhaps someone can be there to take photos and note the process for another manual conversion SAUSA style?

I could help out, but i would only be good at those 2 things , would like to come along anyway to see how its done, and to learn.

I need to replace the gasket between the turbo and dump pipe anyway, and a few other things (CV boots etc) ... so its just easier to do it all in one hit and with the engine out. Just haven't done this amount of work in one go in over 5 years.

I'll be sure to take pics and notes along the way

I bought the GTR box and Nismo clutch kit and Nismo flywheel for some of the coin ... plus I'm happy with the BBS rims for now >_<

Might have a workshop lined up with Lukey boy. During the week, I'll see who would like to lend a hand and we'll get a bbq happening ... thats if Luke doesn't mind the extra company.

Okay its all set. I've arranged to use premises for the swap kindly provided by Luke in the North Plympton area.

Can I have some volunteers to help for a few hours, talk shit and drink some of my beer? I'll mostly need you to help remove the auto trans and then fit in the manual box ... prob 4 peeps all up!

:)

id give ya a hand Ruby but i have a feeling im gonna have my hands tied

with another certain car thats giving me hemorrhoids lol

Luke, any chance i may be able to borrow the cltuch alignment tool?
