Lewis’s R34 Fourdoor Build Thread

Recommended Posts

went on the dyno yesterday for a remap and a cleanout. Really happy cars running great now and made 210.9kW @ 168km/h.

Looking at the torque graph its a bit weired, silly auto's. instead of it increasing slowly as like a power curve it's high then drops it all off and then goes back up again.

Hmmm thats some good power, be stoked if mine gets near that when i finnally get the NISTUNE put in.

Love that exhaust to, so want.

Thanks mate

So the volks are getting picked up on Sunday arvo and these are my temporary wheels........but I think are going to slightly more permanent.

18x9 +30 & 18x10 +18 front and rear rapped in Kumho Ku36’s

They sit pretty nice, but need to get the guards rolled and lift the rear slightly so that’s happening tonight so its sweet for the SAU-SA Dyno Day.

Failing that though nothing a few degrees of negative camber can’t fix

A few little updates, I ordered myself a KKR Black intercooler kit today 600x300x76 so should arrive later this week ready for Saturday to get hooked up and also found a silvertop r32 actuator too with an 11psi spring which is better than the weak as standard 34 one. Then the following weekend going to do the 100k major service and get her running sweet.

We have a problem though...

The few weekends ago I took my gf and a couple of her friends on a wine tour in Malaren Vale, was a really nice day until we pulled into this one of the wineries driveway (had a horrible peak really sharp angle). Went over it thinking should be sweet anyways bottomed out over the crest of the driveway and heard a large bang, pulled up and opened the bonnet to hear a violent hissing sound so turned the car off and the hissing persisted. Now the only thing it thought that would be holding air pressure with the car off is the air conditioning system. But that works fine hot or cold and it was coming from around the turbo right hand side of the engine bay. So I’m really stummed, i haven’t had time to get it on a hoiste to check the front pipe (might have cracked that) but a few weeks ago we had the sau:sa dyno day i only made 161kw.

Then going to take it up to dex at garage 7 for him to have a sus and try find out what might have happened and to get another tune with the fmic n new actuator & 12pound instead of the 10 its running now.

    • Hello, I am looking to replace my two rear drive shafts in my R34 N/A Skyline but I'm finding conflicting information. Do S13/S14/S15 or R32 NA/ R33 NA fit? https://justjap.com/products/gsp-premium-rear-drive-shaft-l-h-nissan-silvia-s13-s14-s15-3x2-type?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOoqY7EwDaYCUoUU3mxxZ_qrUXkVVHiV4MIN7ozoar6scjnEiekv- would this fit?
    • Hoping they release an R34 getrag pull type.
    • You need the bottom spacers, to make it a 3/4 height injector. https://www.efihardware.com/products/3040/injector-adapter-lower-for-extended-nose-injectors   And you'll need to buy the right injector bosses, these "might" fit. You'll need to measure it up. https://www.nzefi.com/product/raceworks-lower-injector-mounting-boss-kit-for-r33-rb25det-s14-s15-sr20det/
    • Unless there's something particular about the Greddy manifold's injector holes that I'm not aware of, those injetcors look to be totally wrong. They would absolutely want to be spaced up to get those long snouts out of the runner. Which, I think, is not usually the way that that problem is solved. I think the problem is solved by using the correct injectors, which would be much more like what Andrew posted.
    • Thanks for the reply, So i've continued playing around, and fitted the injector adaptors onto the injector, the fuel rail is not able to be mounted now as the injectors sit a bit further out. I suppose the point of the adaptors is so that the injector nozzle isn't so deep into the intake? I suppose 1mm extra on the o-ring would do it but still can't mount the rail onto the intake haha. Waiting on a reply from Aeroflow I'm sure there's something stupid that I'm missing...
