Andra Vs E85 ... Sign The Petition.

Good news...while being fuel tested during an event today the ANDRA fuel testing officer informed me they have given approval for CSR E85 to be used in competition. I had a chat to Ben Bray about it who i know is also keen to use it in his 'MR 1200' datto ute. Benny heard during the week and immediately ordered a 205ltr drum for use at the 2nd round of the USA vs Aust Nitro funny car meet on the 16th Jan. Press release due this week.

No. I will not confirm this gossip. Do not take the chance that this innuendo is correct. When a formal decision is made it will be released on the ANDRA website.

This is still in the melting pot.

I don't know who these "prominent race teams" are but I can assure you they have not spoken to me or anyone else with authority at ANDRA.

The correct decision will be made in due course and if it is too slow for some that is life.

The biggest problem with this product is the huge variation in the range of quality/specification and that should worry you as much as it does ANDRA.

Wait till the end of the week...of course he's not going to say its happening. Fu(k em...im running it at the next event...might have to run in a testing class though instead of Group 2 as all Group 2 cars were fuel tested.

Ken...who are you kidding buddy...cut out the silly scare tactics mate its easily seen through. Both you and i know you could easily approve CSR E85 as you already have all the data you need to effectively test it. They provide consistent quality, all the specs are freely available from John at Fuel Control as well as batch numbers and batch test sheets from CSR.

We are not asking you to approve some dodgy mix concocted in the back streets of Bangladesh, just the control fuel thats already being used in the most prominent form of motorsport in this country as well as many others.

Spoke to fuel control...they have even offered Andra THEIR test equipment. They have contracted Andra about whats going on but unfortunately with no reply. Their is a new organic additive once approved by the government will boost the octane rating to 139!!!. VP cannot compete with CSR with their own E85 as E85 is not permitted to be imported by fuel companies.

Andra certainly isn't run by a team of rocket scientists and brain surgeons but one would think they would have enough intelligence to realise if it was cheaper to race at events by allowing teams to dramatically cut thier fuel costs that more cars would enter more events.

Dirt what is happening these days with competition laws and fuels , I wouldn't have thought that any monopolising , nearly said "monetising" , 'd stand up in a Court of Law . If CAMS can't beat Anti Competition Laws I wouldn't have thought VP could .

lol variation in e85 is an issue eh....they should check the consistency of 98 octane supplies from the pump!

The big issue is, even if demand rises, and supply rises, it's going to reach a point where demand > supply.

Australia doesn't have the viable land area to be able to produce ethanol.

America has the issue also... There are now farms that ar epurely growing shit for ethanol... There was a bit of an issue where food supply dropped...

I'm all for E85, but it can never be main streamed as a replacement for pump fuel. We can't supply enough...

Oh, and to all the greenies... Every car in the world accounts for around 3% of the total amount of Hydro Carbon emmisions each year...

IE: Stop worrying so much about your car being bad on the environment and look at the coal fired power stations we run Australia from!

Ethanol now no longer has to be produced from Crops eg Corn , Sugar cane. Ethanol can now be produced from waste materials , sugar cane mulch , wood chips , grass clippings , algae and even raw sewerage . So yes Australia could be viable . All this negative propaganda regarding ethanol comes from the oil companies . Now I wonder why that is

a quick test today revealed you actually burn less E85 compared to Roo16 for a given AFR.
