Hey Guys,

Just a little update on the R34 I imported. Been saving the pennies and finally decided what mod to do first. Yesterday I got a custom bell mouth dump and high flow cat fitted by the guys at Fat Pipes. Seems like a good job, from first appearances. Pics attached...

On an interesting side note... the import landed with two mods from stock. New Sound system and cat back done. Didn't know what it was, but the guys from Fat Pipes told me they were surprised cause it was a titanium system and that I would be a fool to touch it or replace it due to the high $$$, apparently... me thinks = win :)

Tried hard not to let myself be tricked by the placebo effect of new mods but I think I perceived a small increase in response at lower revs and seems to more quickly spool up, but only a small amount. Top end didn't seem to change to a large extent. Engine seemed a little more responsive overall, I think. To be honest i don't know if thats what I should expect or not. I know thats all very subjective but now I have done that I am hoping to do a little time on the dyno to see whats really happening... I'll update once that comes too... Next thing is getting the pre turbo air flow cracking...

Thanks for reading guys, any thoughts or expertise is always welcomed.

Tim

I did my front pipe and high flow cat a few weeks back as well. Its really hard to tell if it had any effect at all performance wise. I think it did give a lil power mid to high range, but like you said dont know if thats just the plecebo effect.

Anyway go for a manual boost controller next, easy to install your self and will be the best bang for your buck.
