Hey mate I wouldn't think it would be better as most people upgrade to a Z32 air flow meter as it is slightly larger. It could just be a typo in his thread.... or that's all he could find before he decided to sell the car.

Anyone got other ideas?

^^he said throttle body, not AFM

im pretty sure the NA tb's are maybe 5-10mm bigger in diameter. its a fairly common upgrade but not really worth it unless youre pushing for huge power and need everything you can get

Only if its your smallest restriction will it help, theres plenty of aftermarket ones on fleabay too.

If you already have 3 inch cooler piping and pushing over 250wkw, It could be a good upgrade. Look to increase the smallest diameter parts of the inlet first.

Wow, so much misinformation in this thread. First off, a Z32 MAF is no bigger than a stock RB MAF, it is just capable of measuring more air. You don't gain hp by installing one, you can just support making more. Second, the RB's throttle bodies are all the same n/a vs turbo. It's just one of those "internet facts" that probably started because the SR20det guys grab the larger TB of the n/a SR's for an upgrade because it is, in fact larger. That's not the case with RB's. Just like the rumors you hear sometimes about the n/a cams being larger. The only case that is true is on the S13 SR20det vs. the n/a S13 SR20de.

People really should invest more time researching things more than just what they heard on an internet chat forum before they do them to their engines.
