re voythie, i dont think thats the smartest thing you have said on this forum. There is NOWHERE in sydney that is safe enough to hoon around in on the streets and not have a risk of killing yourself or other drivers. Theres gutter, poles, buildings and other cars that you can hit. For your own safety and pocket (including criminal records) please don't do this.

I don't care if the execs get shitty at me for saying this, but if thats going to be your attitude, hooning around on the streets with no regard to public safty, i'll man up and say straight out that we don't want you to join this club or talk on the forum. We try very hard to change the publics view about our cars and about our club, and we don't need another hero giving the rest of us enthusiasts a bad name.

If you understand where i'm comming from (and really i dont care if you do or don't), then you can come back to sau and gain help from us if you need it, if you ignore me, then your not welcome here. Its for your safety not mine.

so your saying you where a angel when you where 20 and you never hooned around? iv talked to people in my family with sports cars that i never knew they had and they hooned when they wer my age so if your going to be a prick about it because i said when i hoon around which is rarely and your judgeing me as some lil racer boy kid then please pull your head outta your ass because i dont hoon left right and centre bcoz i rarely do it.

the whole reason on joining sau is to come to these events so im not obligated to hoon on the roads and so i can meet other people that will see how i am and not judge me from 1 comment like you.

looks like iv stepped up for myself so dont judge me

Edit: im not ashamed to say i hoon atleast i got the balls to say iv done somthing wrong and to be straight forward and not keep all quiet and give shit to the others that speak the truth and that are straight forward. as i said before i dont hoon daily or monthly its just randomly when my anger gets to me and i need to get outta the house

Epic fail, first you need to really change your attitude and re-evaluate your priorities, your response was even worse than your first statment. yes everyone speeds.... hooning is fkn a much bigger issue, it doesnt matter if you do it every day or when your angry, to public go out to industrial sites is a wank job, and to make matters worse is your attitude and your justification for it. When i was 20 years old? mate i just turned 23 so no i wasnt an angel, but i wasn't as stupid as you and i have NEVER HOONED either....

Who cares if your "family" used to hoon around, does that make it ok for you? If it makes you sleep better at night i guess you can think what you like.

Just because your "not ashamed" to admit you hoon, doesnt mean you have balls, all it means is you think the issue is a joke.

The only reason people will judge you as a "little boy street racer" is because thats what you are, your comments didn't imply you were going to stop hooning at industrial parks, nor do you seem to think there is anything wrong with it. If you think there is nothing wrong with it tell it to a couple of my dead mates from back at school who didnt get to see their 21st birthday. What about the innocent old couple on the great western highway couple of christmasses ago that were killed because of some 20 year old punks with the same attitude as you.

Don't turn around and say that you are joining sau because you want to do it on the track instead, if thats your justification then fine, aslong as you get the stupidt attitude out of your sytem. Who is obligating you to hoon on public roads anyway? YOURSELF!!!

I can judge anyone however i like when they basically tell me how to judge them, your the one that told us how to judge you, if you don't like to be judged, wake up and keep the stupidity to the track in a safe environment.

"yeah when i hoon around its always somewhere where no one is about and nowhere where i am in danger if somthing goes wrong. the local industrial area is good on weekends when theres no movement going on" That doesn't sound like your wanting to give up hooning anytime soon?

Untill your attitude is changed you wont get any sympathy from me if the worst does happen.

I dont care if anyone objects to what i have said, if you oppose what i say you are basically a hoon yourself and that is not what this club is about, nor am i going to let it slowly become like that while i am apart of SAU. if you want to take "real hooning" (not a current affair hooning) up, do what you said before and get a VL, you'll fit right in with that lot.

SAU is for car enthusiasts, I am sick and tired of cops pulling me over randomly even though there is nothing wrong with my driving or the car, they sometimes comment about my SAU stickers and say that we are generally in their good/better books than most other clubs and other people driving tuners. I won't let you give the rest of us a bad name. No matter how you try and justify it.

Change your ways or piss off, your choice, the balls in your court. you have already made a crap first impression,

and FYI, you should be ashamed that you hoon

PS: if moderators or execs or whoever think that i shouldn't have sent that, then i quit sau nsw club and retire the execs role, because i wont have anything to do whith such a club that doesn't uphold the law, try to drum in sense into a hoon, while potentially this inexperienced driver could really end up killing someone you know. And i wont be sil;enced by a hoon trying to justify his ways

All good Tom, no need for you to leave or quit bud :D

As Ive stated many times on here, SAU NSW does not need a bad reputation, alot of public people read these forums, as well as the "boys in blue" so thats why we try and keep this rubbish talk of hooning off our forums. This is a public forum.

Regardless if you are not in the club, but drive a skyline, Joe Public who is working back one night at his factory, see's a skyline "hooning around" - all of a sudden all skyline owners are hoons.

This is not the image we want here.

Costa,

If you do hang around here, Id advise you to watch what you say on these public forums, and re re re read your posts before you submit as you havent said the smartest things here at all.

SAU is very anti-hoon behaviour orientated (obviously)... This is why we spend months organising track days, motorkhanas, drag days etc etc so you have an accesible, affordable outlet for your motorsport needs. Look a the latest Texi, it's on January 31st and we've spent well over a year putting together a cost effective day for anyone to come and drive their car how they please. At $45 for the whole day (9am to 5pm runs), it's an absolute bargain.

Personally, I was enjoying your posts Grk_R33, a lot of people that sign up here can barely type out the english language and normally due to the younger age (I mean younger then 20, normally around 15 - 17) are quite stupid and unable to take on any information put before them. You've done well so far. But we do not tolerate hooning or the breaking of any laws on this forum. It has been mentioned before that the police have, and do, browse these forums for whatever reason (mentioned BY the police), so saying you break the law isn't the wisest thing. Saying that you only do it when you're angry is even worse, it means you are not in total control and will make rash decisions. This actually worries me, if I were you, I would find something different to get your anger out.

My advice to you is, don't buy a turbo car. Don't modify it to a non-turbo.

Buy a legal car. 2 years is a damn long time!

Other then that, I see a lot of myself in Toms posts. But I soon realised that a dickhead hoon in a skyline is going to be a dickhead hoon in anything. I don't want you out there speeding at all, especially not in a skyline, which is why I think this club could greatly benefit you. The ability to know and control your car could one day save your life.

Buy an NA, enjoy hassle free club events where you're not going to blow a turbo or detonate the engine for two years, then when you have the skills, up the power :D

Tom - get off your high horse. Yes, we don't condone street racing, but that doesnt give you the right to tell a member to "change your ways or piss off" you are representing the club here so play nice.

Grk_R33 - as I said, and as you can see, we don't condone street racing - hooning, or anything like it - this is your one warning, don't talk about it again and where you think its cool and safe to do it or you will be warned or banned. and that goes to everyone here.

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
