Ive been offered an R32 GTR Gearbox really cheap and im wondeing if it will fit my stag without to much modifying and if so what needs to be modified. The reason im considering this is cause its from a mate of mine and i know what condition its in and i have a push type clutch that will fit the box and rather than buy a pull type clutch which are pretty dear, i could just wack a 32 box in if it fits.

R32 GTR box should go straight in with only mod to slave cylinder (pull to push).

what about the attessa system, i know the system is alot more advanced in the stags than an r32 so will this be a problem?

I was just referring to what Sam said - it should go straight in, but you'll (most likely) have to change the clutch operation from pull to push.

The ATTESA system shouldn't be a worry, as far as I know - just buy a complete R32 box including the transfer case.

Sorry dont understand?

I have a late r32 box in mine with a pull clutch

The difference between the push and pull slave faces in different directions so you would need to mod your clutch line. Approx $85-95 for a new braided one from Maltech.

The obvious question is "why?"

Do you not already have a manual box? What's wrong with it that can't be economically repaired?

Just rereading your post ... is it just so you can change the type of clutch?

Theres nothing wrong with my manual box, its just i got told its a realy big job modifying mine to fit a push clutch. apparently it requires new bell housing new slave, new fork. Is this right, its what my mechanic said i would need to do and he said it would cost big dollars.

Yes it is so i can change type of clutch, its just an idea so far. not sure if ill go ahead yet and also gtr box is alot stronger. it also comes with transfer case, slave cylinder and clutch fork so it should bolt straight up yeah?

I can see your point regarding push clutches being alot cheaper, but alot of work to save few bucks esp if box is ok.

Complete GTR R32 box inc. fork and throw out should go straight into RS4S with only push slave cylinder needed and maybe modified flexi-line.

Gtr do also run a booster on clutch so be aware!
