NISSAN GTR
Several weeks back i put my 350z on the net for sale and was thinking i should really do something about my smokey headlights , i noticed R33 and R34 have the same problem , i always thought the smokey glass was stained on the inside and would have replace them at $1100 each ! So i tried metal polish (AUTOSOL) buffed it on with a cloth , worked a treat , i know what your thinking metal polish on plastic ? it worked a treat its crystal clear ! i do know of plastic polish you can get but i think this is the same stuff its like toothpaste , slightly abrasive . Now i just want to polish every stained headlight i see ! Hope this helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/298403-has-anyone-covered-headlight-restoration-r33-r34-350z/ Share on other sites
Hakosuka22
Yeah cheers mate. There is a large thread on here called "yellow fever" all about lights and the best fixes. I solved mine with one of the tutorials in there that uses wet/dry sandpaper, really effective. Ya sould post some pics up in there to show your results... Cheers. NA_Goodness
Common fix. I dont think it stays that perfect for very long though? Mine are in need of a good polish now, so I might see how long this way works. ShyBoi
i got a mixture from safeway for $10 that brings them up a treat, but as Rhys says it doesnt stay that way lasts maybe 2-3 months and hav to repolish Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/298403-has-anyone-covered-headlight-restoration-r33-r34-350z/#findComment-4964481 Share on other sites
SS8_Gohan
man, what are you eventually trying to sell now op... paint polish, and a MACHINE, - 18months ago the headlights were polished, still fine. Headlights are usually waxed as well Depending how bad, you may need to wetsand. But i would imagine some paint polish, and a machine will rectify most out there. A lasting solution. Not one of those ones designed for 2-3months and you have to re-do Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/298403-has-anyone-covered-headlight-restoration-r33-r34-350z/#findComment-4964642 Share on other sites
