Hi guys

Just to let you know...

I have spent 8 years, and many prototypes perfecting and building what I believe to be the most realistic Racing simulator in Australia.

I spent $55,000 odd building and rebuilding an R31 Wagon a few years ago, I just relived it today showing Steve all the photos of busted diffs, turbos, gearboxes and other bits...

I decided to build a sim instead, as it was cheaper in the long run... Now I drive an Aston Martin DBR9, a Porsche Cup Car, a Mercedes Truck, a V8 Supercar, and the list goes on... :D

Rest assured, for those of you booked in for the simulator experience, you'll have a great time!

I'm going to see if I can arrange to have the Simulator at the Yacht club where my Yacht is moored, as there are a couple of Barbecues and a large covered area to entertain guests there, and a bar for drinks purchases as well... watch this space...

Some of you may even want to come out for a sail for an hour or so if the weather permits, but the yacht can only take 12 or so comfortably.

Steve downloaded the skyline mod for me this afternoon, so I'll install it tonight and have a play setting up the car for Bathurst and seeing what sort of times I can punch out. If I get time I'll record a hot lap and get it up on youtube for you to check out... heres one from a couple years ago before I got the 62" screen (yes... sixty two...)

Cheers,

i think the guy in the video is using a level of traction control as he just mashes the accelerator with it turned off your would possibly just spin depending on gear and revs

ROFL...

The "guy" in the video is me... when I had hair a couple of years ago...

no Traction control... the Corvette I am driving needs to be driven like you stole it to get fast times... it breaks traction yes, but it drifts well, hence the wild steering corrections constantly!

Nothin' wrong with mashing accelerators mate :bunny:

I'm using this mod, but the older version...

thats why I've had braking issues... I read on here the update to 1.1 fixes brake issues!

I'll have a play tonight and see how it goes with better brakes.

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
