final specs of what i got

i7 920

Asus P6T mobo

6gb Kingston 1600mhz RAM

1TB WD Caviar Black

Gigabyte 1gb 4670

Antec Sonata III case, with EarthWatts 500W PSU

22xRW DVD burner

i think that's it. Bought a Logitech diNovo keyboard from umart, $59. Will buy some entry level 5.1 speakers next, prob Logitech.

Friends in HK will hopefully hunt down a Wacom Intuos4 6 x 9 tablet for me. And then i'll prob just wait for dell to get some U2410's in at their outlet and grab a couple

I could get that one for $450

I think that's the one I got. it's about the length of my keyboard.

They probably are a lot cheaper in HK... I'm not usually one to care about price that much though.

i3/i5/i7/i9 - You think something would be the same like the motherboards they're based on.

i3/i5 is bugdet desktop/workstation

i7/i9 is higher end/enthusiast

Think of it as R33 GTS-t and GTR. Based on the same chassis, however pretty much totally different in parts.

Thanks mate, having never seen or read about these new cores I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Found this table which will be useful to many :

Just grab a key from warez & get a win 7 loader. :D

Worked for me, has it running on both my main PC & laptop & windows updateds fine.

EDIT: I don't think I have ever paid for a proper copy of OS ever, the only legit versions of windows I had were 95 & XP home which came with my 686 & intel P4 pre-bulid computers.

    • Welcome.  Glad to hear that you have gained some knowledge that has helped you. I believe the only fix for the power steer belt is an electric conversion with a Holden astra pump. If you get a chance, post pics of your car, please. 🙂
    • Just ordered those bosses, hopefully that does the trick thank you very much everyone for your replies it's really appreciated
    • to have this type of adjustment possible with a curve as I wish, what budget (engine) should be planned?
    • People still have Skylines? I thought they're non-existent now.
    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
