Awww I'd love to have him if I lived closer. My little Maltese loves company - I only just recently left her with friends who have 2 x Maltese/Shitsu's while I went to NZ.

I hope you find somewhere for him :)

I'll fly him over to Canberra for you? :D

It'll still be much cheaper than paying $1k plus to put him in the boarding kennel and at least i know he is in the safe hands of a dog lover :D

oh serious!? :D

What date in January are you going?

I have a townhouse with a small courtyard, so Molly is an inside dog, but I walk her all the time (live right next to a lake). Is your dog ok with no real "backyard"?

asked my parents, however my dog doesn't like small dogs. if it was bigger, it would have been fine. then again, it seems like your dog is a house dog. our spoodle is outdoors only (99% of the time).

Go well, go Shell! :P

hehe

sloutch, I'll reply to your PM a bit later

Thanks Michelle, i might have someone in Melbourne to look after him. A really big THANK YOU to the SAU community for helping me out. I guess it pays off to be a SAU VIC member too :)

Tomorrow i would be meeting up with this kind SAU VIC member and confirm the details. I will keep you posted Michelle.

Yeah mine is an indoor dog. It's a moodle :D. Speaking of which, he was lost for 5 days out in the wilderness of Narre Warren when i left him over at a mate's house last year and he survived! Found him at a local council dog pound. Smart dogs they are :D.

LOL at the "wilderness" of Narre!!!! :P

When we were kids, our Doberman survived nearly a month in the dense bush of East Gippsland, and even fathered some puppies with a dingo, then came back to our holiday house.

Glad you found somewhere for him though.

Go team SAU!! :D

give the dog a buz cut and it ll be fine outdoors. even though, when it's 35c+, then i let my dog inside until it cools down or wash it's head in fresh water, either way, dogs are made for the outdoors.

Many thanks to everyone that PM'ed me.

I have found someone who kindly offered to look after my dog while i'm away.

Thanks also to Michelle who offered some interstate help :). Once again i have to say how fortunate i am to be part of the SAU community.

Thanks all!

Ben...i'll take care of that mutt...and i'll have my korean colleagues come over for a meal too....=P

Haha! So sweet of you Gerald...

Anyway, the supposedly good samaritan from the forums PLAYED ME OUT!!..

Everything was pretty much confirmed until yesterday when he texted me to tell me he decided to charge me $100 a week for his services! On top of that i have to provide food and everything.. :)

So in total it will cost me about $1000 for him to take care of my dog. Fair enough people might say nobody does things for free now. I was actually thinking of giving him a couple of hundred dollars in the first place. The dog hotel i've looked up quoted me $1,200ish for the duration and they'll provide medication, food and grooming every fortnight.

I replied and negotiated a lesser amount and heard nothing from him again. Ain't going to come out with his name or nick name here but i'm really disappointed at how this turned out, it actually tells you about the character of this individual. Not sure if in the future should anyone actually have any business trading on the forums with this person.

Anyway i have found a friend of mine who can take care of my dog  . Thanks all again for your attention and kind offers!

what a shame, was looking forward to a little cute dog, go down to the park or running track, chicks love little dogs !

(just dont tell the miss's) haha

Yeah chicks dig small little white dogs! :)

Too bad you didn't PM me earlier before that guy who played me out. Shame on him seriously if he is reading this.

oh that sux.. if that was his intention he should have said that upfront instead of wasting your time :)

I wasn't expecting any money at all except for food costs!

Glad you found somewhere else though

    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
    • It works quite well with the adjustibility within each of the programs of the turbolamik. Essentially p1 is drive and lockup comes on like a normal driver.  But in program 7 I have customised it to not request the lockup clutch to engage until something like 6500/7 when slip was the lowest.
    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
    • Just a thought, but instead of restricting, is it possible to do like an "up for review" kind of thing? Where say someone who's not an admin/mod tags, it would require approval for it to actually tag? User posts with a 'tag' > Admin/Mod Reviews > Approves tag > Tag now exists kinda thing? Just came across this thread so Im not too sure if Im straying off topic or not but forgive me if i am...
