Don't totally dismiss a 33. They have always been my least favorite skyline. I Had to sell my r32 gtr as it was unlicensed and I sold and purchased another house so i needed the money for that. Purchased a 33 for $9600 in ok condition and i haven't had a problem yet, very nice daily driver easy in traffic even with the HD clutch. Still not my favorite skyline but i actually like them now.

xmas spirit bitch.. time for giving lol

LOL :)

Budgets are tight Alex this time of year. Traditionally, dealers find car sales hard slogging over the Xmas period.

Private vendors are concerned that as 2010 approaches, their cars will be deemed as 1 year older.

So collectively, it becomes a buyers' market for 2 months.

+1 for not touching a 32 gtr for 15k.

also +1 for looking at a 33. you could pick up a nice one for 15k that will have some decent mods, or buy a relatively stock one and do mods to get you up around 250 to 260kw.

R33 are teh VL Turbo of the Skyline world, not inherently bad, and have some good bits, but nothing special either.

R32GTS-4 brah, halfway to a GT-R and by the sounds of it you must have driven some pretty shabby examples of R32s! (the cool factor is just an added bonus)

Any R34 for 15k is likely to be a dodgy POS anyway, so Stagea maybe?

i got an r34 gt-t 99 model for $15,000

jic coilovers

rear camber arms

full 3" exhuast

apexi turbo timer

Greddy profec b spec ii

Volk GT-C's

105,000k's

whats the catch you ask?

nothing except its auto  haha

on that note, good luck getting a manual for that price. could always convert the auto later on

nothing wrong with the r32, evem if they are 20 year old. u just gotta find a good one. Dont go buyin a r32 gtst that the guy has used as a drift car.... its gunna rattle. go buy a clean one with hardly any mods. My gtr is in mint conditon. drives like a brand new car...... Its just faster than all the brand new cars.....

LOL and what's wrong with that, autos are tops :) I've got a super duper list of bits on my one, to be honest I reckon the price would be around $16K for a nice quick sale. It's still very tidy so have no doubt it'll go  Bring on June!!!

  • 3 weeks later...

I picked up a clean '98 model R34 GT-t manual coupe for $17800 from Atomu Watanabe, has a business on the sunny coast called Japanese Auto Work Shop (JAWS) where he imports through Phoenix Imports if I remember correctly.

I got my manual 2001 series 2 r34 GTT for 17.5k including stamp duty, rego and 1 year warranty so without on road costs it would of been 16 to 16.5k but obviously pretty pointless taking on roads as you have to pay those

I wouldn't touch any 32 GTR under 20k, all the half decent ones I've looked at over the past few months have been upwards of 25k and for that money I'd rather get a r34 GTT. You can buy a standard GTT for around 20k now from dealers(in vic anyways) or around the same price with a few mods privately. I've seen a few r34's for around 18k but they were not exactly clean examples.

I still don't know why there is such a price gap between 33's and 34's, i mean a series 2 33 can be had for less then 15k easy, but a bog stock 34 you looking at 20k plus. Yes the 33's are more common but so what, they still look good and there isnt really that much difference mechanically. You could buy a 33 for say 12-13k then spend the extra money on mods and have a 250kw atw car for under 20k easy.

I say 34 if your willing to save up or just buy a really nice 33, OR you could get a stagea :/ .
