g'day

ive had a starter motor go walk about on me... old man says he gave it to the auto electrician, auto sparky says he's never seen it, you know the story...

Anyway i need one and wanted to know which models of rb starter motors will fit or if there is a aftermarket one that will be a straight fitment

the motor is out of an r34 GTT with a 5 speed manual box behind it (rb25det neo) i know ive got an rb30 one sittin round but im a bit skeptical as to wether it will fit hopefully ill be able to get my paws easily on an r33 one... im gonna try it tonight but see what you guys reakon... ive tried genuine parts from nissan but they want my first born so they can forget it

any help would be great

p.s.

i have also swapped between auto and manual starter motors on the 25det neo and i havent had any problems ( manual starter motor in auto car not the other way around)

Cheers

i think its dependent on the gearbox

if its a rb25 box the rb30 started wont fit, i think that only fits rb20 box

im not 100% sure on any of this though

i would have thought it would be more to do with the flywheel and how far it moves out when engaged... as long as it clears the gearbox and meshes good with the flywheel i should be onto a winner... way better than forking out 1300 big ones for a new nissan one... imagine all the ps3 games i could get for that ha ha

finally got a chance to get under my car today... got a few things done, including the starter motor and yes an rb30 one does fit and crank pretty good... beats buying one since i had this one lying round from an old rb30... i should get most of the car done over my month long xmas break :P
