R33 with S14 TURBO?

He guys my mate is selling his S14 Garret T-28 Turbo. Im interested to know if this is a good upgrade over the standard r33 turbo. The specs are below. Im planning to run 17psi out of this turbo if possible.

Turbo specs:

Compressor: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housing

Turbine: T-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R turbine housing.

Center Section: Ball Bearing

It works off a T25 flange. R33 has a T3 flange. I wouldnt bother with this turbo as the manifold that would be needed to fit would be really exxy. It would work out cheaper to highflow your own turbo.

Simple answer. **** NO.

As MJ says, by the time you get everything altered to fit the turbo it'll cost too much to be worthwhile.

Don't forget the dump is different, oil and water lines different, exhaust flange is different, compressor outlet is different.......

And you'll make less power too.

better off getting your T28 highflowed if you want to go for higher boost - then you don't have to bugger around with adapter plates etc or change the exhaust manifold

dotn do it it is not an upgrade it is probably a down grade.

compare the rear opening on the turbo your rb 25 on is 48 mm bet you the s 14 one is smaller

with all the customising u have to do ... why not just buy a bolt on hks 2530 or whatever ... bolt straight on ... instant easy ... more power

Wouldnt this turbo be better even though its a bit smaller it could produce more boost? e.g 17psi. Our turbo has the damn ceramic turbine so max 14psi able to run before blowing up.

you might be able to run 17psi but it might have less air flow than your stocker @ 1bar.

If it's the factory s14 turbo then it would be a silly thing to do.

Thanks for all the opinion ive decided not to purchase the s14 turbo. As this turbo would not be efficient to run on a skyline. Ill just keep an eye out for another turbo.
