Why do I want a 25?

Sorry my bad i forgot that it was Rev's that accelerate a car not Torque :ninja: . That is the reason why you want a 25 and it's also why an SR is a better 2 litre (that and aftermarket part support). A 25 will go rev for rev with a 20 it's just that they don't need to to make torque.

SR's are sh!t.

compared to an rb25, yes.

compared to an rb20... no.

the only thing the rb20 has going for it over the sr is the ability to sit on limiter all day*... but thats really only because you practically have to drive them on limiter.

sr you can just sit in the thick of the midrange and tear away happily.

*granted, the rb also sounds somewhat less shit.

Thanks for all your responses guys (well most of you :D)... I am definitely selling the GTR (boo I know) to get something cheaper so I can save/buy a house etc. I can always get another GTR down the line :)

Oh, spotter's fee to anyone who finds someone to buy it too :)

But yeah, Evo probably at the top of the list right now... I'm still trying to convince myself that I NEED another car ha ha ha

fun cars but hope

enjoy broken balancer shafts.. it destroys the block when they go...lol mine did it at about 2000 rpm , leaving the driveway in normal fashion on a stock motor. not thrashed one either. good engine without shafts if you dont mind the extra vibrations, I didnt put any back in my second motor from japan..

so much shit talk.. and i havnt even posted yet!

evo's are fantastic cars. and what trumps them over a STI or GTR is the invisibility to cops.

my vr4 (not an evo, but an awd twin turbo 4 door mitsubishi) is on its guts and i drive past cops regularly and never get a 2nd look. loving it.

evo's are good cars but still not my type of car! i drive them and i can see why they're fast but they still don't tickle my fancy. i like to stick to rear wheel driven cars with a bit of grunt. but corolla sportivos aren't bad cars, that would be my choice anyway

I am not doing it to get out of doing it cheaply at all but I think the RB20 is fantastic for hovering around 7,000rpm for extended periods of time.

SR's are sh!t.

amen that

There's something wrong with your rating system then. I'd prefer a 265 HEMI to an RB20.

Easy, buy an EVO X....no balance shaft

I have both aswell, maybe your 25 needs a tune up lol

Maybe he's comparing his RB20 to the vehicle in his profile. As for 20 vs 25 thats an absolute no brainer the 25 hands down, in fact the SR20 is a torquier engine than the 20 been proven time and time again.......6 Pack hemi is the only NA i'd consider in a six for performance, absolute torque kings.
