its sold. well done Simon.

Not sure about these guys taking engineering certificates and epa bullshit. RTA only need a receipt and a blue slip. They don't even need to see the car.

For everyone else in NSW, you are going to be "owned" by Simon !!

Id feel quite comfortable being 'owned' by your old car Aaron.

I did read he was moving back to melbourne in 1 years time....so id say with all the above, i wouldnt even bother changing to NSW rego....esp. when i think we pay big $$$$ compared to Vic rego and all the Hassels you guys think off..

Leave it Vic Registered (Im sure you have mates/relo's in Vic  ).......and enjoy it ......

You thing thats bad, when my car was brought over from Sydney, to get it registered in Perth, i had to pay a $3600 stamp duty...

Oh yeah....the stamp duty and all the other day light robbery charges you have to pay.

It is a lot of money, but unfortunately we have to either like it or lump it when it comes down to it. When buying and owning a car like this, I just cant help but turn a blind eye to being robbed by the RTA.....lol........ouch, it does hurt a bit.

So Simon, how was the drive back to Sydney?

What are your impressions on the car compared to others you had inspected?

Drive back to Sydney was great. A little boring driving in a straight line....lol. I have not driven a fast car for about 6 years, and none of them handled like this one does, so this was an awesome way to get reacquainted.

I have a fair bit of practice to do in order to get the most out of this beast, but that is half the fun and will be trying to get some track time in shortly.

My fiancee Anna came with me to Melbourne on Saturday when I picked the car up. She could never see what I ever saw in a Nissan skyline GTR, and said she way prefered euro cars.....she said to me on the way home. "I finally get it now, I know why you wanted another GTR..........this car is bloody awesome" (She is a wonderful girl)

Well I think she had just as much fun buying and getting the car as I did.

To tell you the truth JAGR33 I did not inspect a whole lot of them. The thing that really attracted me to this one was that it is set up for circuit, and is what the GTR is all about IMO.

The bottom end and block has been done right, and the suspension and brakes are to match. I really liked the fact that the car has not been just boosted and every last KW extracted from it, and suspension has been looked at very closely.

Im sure the car will see its problems from time to time, but thats what cars do......they wear out.

But I know with this one that the donk is built with reliability and with adequate power in mind.

I saw a lot of GTR's with a lot of bling factor, and not as much in real world performance. I am very happy with this cars balance of style and performance, and infact looks quite conservative compared to some, but still looks tough, which is what I like.

I went with Aaron on Saturday morning for a test drive, and he took me for a run through a nice little course that had me with a grin from ear to ear. I was very impressed.

I drove it for a bit after that, and felt very nervous (as you would be) and managed to break the power steering belt in a few minutes.(murphy's law) A trip to the shop and 20 mins at Aarons house and all was good to start the big drive to Sydney only to just get out of Melbourne with about 10 mins to spare in avoiding the big storm...........way to close for my likeing, but made it out alive.....fffffeeewwww.

I will invest in some different tyres for the track, and maybee some street orientated front pads for the squealing factor (street use).

I might leave the camber on the car until the first track day with good rubber and see if it is worth taking any camber off or not. Its a lot of camber for the tyres that are on it, but im sure with stickier rubber it will be a whole different story.

That's great to hear mate.

That's the best thing about the car, it looks standardish and sounds like it too. It's so smooth you could use it as a daily, although with the camber you'd be going through the tyres!!!

The times this car has achieved at the tracks here in Melbourne is outstanding, 1:44's at the Island!!!! :)

Best of luck with it mate, I'm sure it will bring you many years of happiness.....
