Hi All,

Looking for places in Adelaide that can make up a new set of seat rails for a 33gtst, wanting to fit GTR seats, dump the driver seat as low as possible and move it back an extra 100mm or so, work will need to be certified to ADR.

Any recommendations welcomed, just looking for someone to provide a cost estimate for the moment

Cheers :D

hi mate

Im 2m tall and modified my seat rail

cut extra notches in the rail and welded where needed

made an inch longer

after a few years I bought a 200$ seat rail off ebay, that lowers the seat heaps and moves it right right back, heaps more adjustment

adr approved as well, from Flynn performance I think. Just jap also sell them

I need some too, tired of my head on the roof and seat not back far enough...lol

great car if your under 6ft

had to get a sunroof model didnt I... bad idea..lol

plus Im tired of playing the ADR rules game on seats and rails, can you ? or cant you ? get after market seats and use non factory rails, the GTT seats blow and GTR ones cost a arm and leg

Ive been to every shop in town and get 4 answers, heard a engineer guy in lonsdale can certify the mods, for a cost...$$$ like everything

posted in the seats part of this forum and got no answers as well, so might ask locals..lol

Yeah theres not much on the forums when it comes to tall driver seat mods, figured the only way to find out will be to go visit some fabricators. I was looking at a 33 GTR on the weekend and tbh the seats aren't really that much lower at all, however they are nicer to sit in. Same problem with knees knocking the wheel and leg pressed hard in to the window controls.

I was in Autobarn at Gilles Plains on the weekend and it was mentioned they had "a guy" that makes up custom rails for their after market seats and certifies them for $4-500, rather not go through a man in the middle if it can be avoided.

Next problem will be once the seat is moved back the wheel will probably be too far away :D

Does the government maintain a list of workshops that are allowed to do ADR work maybe?

EDIT:

Just found this site, http://www.rtsengineering.com.au/sle.html will have to give them a call or try and head down at some point.

Rory just finished with my mates 31, fully engineered with 25det and coilovers + more. did a great job, recommended.

lol damn tall people, im on the other end of the scale being short and buying mine off a tall guy leaving me having to put it on the max forward position to reach the pedals.

Dont feel bad Dan ,, you and Gary Coleman can troll for chicks together ..lol

He lived near me in USA and I had to laugh when I saw him get out of his car ,,,, the pillows he sat on with two phone books under those..lol

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
    • Even though I have some pretty good (brand) ratchet ringies, I avoid using them to break open tight bolts. A broken ratchet is very annoying.
