Hi people.

Im getting a nismo rear lip for my boot but dont know how to tell if its really a nismo or cheap knock off.

Does anyone know what it should be made of and if there should be any markings on it?

Im guessing it should be made of abs plastic? but not sure.

Cheers

Hi mate, I take it that you're referring to a rear diffuser, right?

Well, if it's a Nismo product, there's two things that will set it off right away for you. Firstly, it'll have a genuine Nismo product label inside the kit. My genuine Nismo R33 400R front bar has it AND yes, all genuine stuff are ABS plastic not fiberglass or carbon fiber.

Hold it up and look at the quality - you will be able to tell if it's genuine or not. Moreover, how much did you pay for it? Good rear diffusers range from $600 to $3K sometimes. If it's cheap you'll know it's either a bargain or a fakey!

The Nismo rear lip for the R32 is soft. Like the lip that goes on the bonnet.

They are usually also warped, cracked & generally stuffed.

This is one of those instances you are better off getting a copy.
