ok so i have choosen the rims and the color i want. black work xd9s and the size 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 but i cant seem to find any helpful info about offset. does any1 know what offset would fit a 34 gtt. i dont mind roling the gaurds i just dont wanna scrub or anything like that. also the car is currently stock height. thanks guys.

correct. IMO, go equal size all round. makes it easier to swap tyres, rims front/rear(which if you have a mech diff you might need to do as they won't like a space saver), resale of rims to GTR owners etc.

+22 is the most you would go with unmodified guards

the offset number doesn't mean much without the wheels size.

he was asking about 8.5" and 9.5" wide rims

which ones were you suggesting +22 offset for? as there will be a 13mm difference in how far out they sit

^^ That's about right Adz, conservative offsets and sit almost flush with the guards.... i prefer more aggressive offsets :)

+22 would be the lowest offset at 9" wide on stock guards

For reference, these are R34 GTR wheels on a GTT which are 18x9 +30 all round... +22 will extend another 8mm outwards of the guard

I had the following on my GTT -

Front - 18x8.5J +30 offset (235/40/R18)

Rear - 18x9.5J +38 offset (265/35/R18)

thanks adzmax. just asking because these are work wheels i cannot try b4 i buy so to speak. i want the dished look at the back and not so much at the front. also i only want to have to roll the gaurds a little. no camber/ streched tyres to fit.

im running XD9's in:

17x9.5+17 fronts with a 215/40

18x10+38 rear with 235/40

On a R32 Gtst with rolled guards. not flared..

-1.5 to -2deg camber on rears

-3 deg camber fronts (cos front is slammed)

will i need to camber if i dont go so low??? also what is involved in this and do you scrub at all?? full lock bumbs ect. cheers

Nah u shouldnt need neg camber if u dont go so low, u shouldnt scrub... but, if you have very wide wheels and low offset with 0camber settings, the wheels can possibly stick out too much and look odd, usually when u lower your car the camber will start falling negative naturally.

to adjust the camber you can get camber arms front and rear... but thats more for dialing out negative camber than increasing it (from a performance perspective)...

do you have a side pic of your back wheel?? they look rather dished of +38. ill got that if they are as they fit the 34 easy.

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
