Don't get me started!!! Had a run in with the local police the other week. I politely questioned whether the "random" breath test was really necessary and got called a smart arse, told i had an attitude problem, asked if i was sure i hadn't been in trouble for drugs and threatened to be defected cos my window didn't wind down the whole way and my horn didn't work!

Police are wankers man, they suck! :) and so does two40! haha

But on the other side, one day before this incident an undercover was quite ok and let me go for 15 and under when i was clearly going a lot faster. And he didn't give me any crap either. Its 50/50 at this stage.

Get a daily driver like I did! Teh Exa Can neva loose. Although honestly the exa is a hoon mobile so I dont think I am safe in it.

I think the key is to keep it real during the holidays, be on guard, drive carefully and try not to get into any trouble. The police are enforcing laws put in place by the government, simple as that. The only difference is the cops attitude, some are cool and do their job well others are on what appears to be a power trip.

I find that bitching wont fix it, the best bet is to stay away. And no I wont be taking the skyline on a australia day cruise this year, I escaped defects last year and want to start this year on a good note.

GTR Boy.. questioning an RBT will land you in hot water, don't be smart with cops. They have a job to do. If a cop pulled me over for an "RBT" and demanded to search my car for no good reason THEN I would have a problem with it. If they pull me over I blow in the tube and they say have a good one then that's fine.

I'm not surprised they hassled you more after that remark. Also your horn not working is a bit dangerous, when someone cuts you off all you can do is brake you can't warn them if they haven't seen you. What if it's a B double and he keeps coming over? You're ****ed. My horn wasn't working when I bought my 31 and it was the first thing I fixed. Just my opinion, btw. They obviously decided to check your car out though, or you had a wheel with no horn button on it...

Touch wood I haven't been genuinely harrassed by police. I'm positive I'll get pulled over this summer though, either for exhaust or the noise my car makes when it goes around corners... :)

Operation Roadsafe:

"A high profile police enforcement operation - supported by a public education campaign encompassing radio and outdoor advertising - will target a population base of more than 2 million people in Sydney’s northern beaches, lower North Shore, city, eastern suburbs, southern suburbs and inner west.

We will be targeting areas from the Northern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs down to Sutherland and Hurstville and across to the inner west focusing on speeding drivers, drink drivers and people not wearing their seatbelts."

isn't that like, almost everywhere?? :)

remember double demerits start on Xmas eve too!! :D

I think I know what you're on about Loz, I got pulled over and they just started firing questions at me. I answered a few then I said, "What's going on? Why did you pull me over?" to which the reply was, "Pull your ****in head in boxhead. This is a random breath test. You ever heard of one of those?" It was at this point that the other cop standing behind him pulls a breath tester from behind his back.

One of my best mates is a copper and even he admits that at least 60% of them are wankers. Thing is though, that's not 100% and us being smart arses to the good ones is likely to turn them into arseholes if they cop enough of it.

What would you do if every customer/client/whatever gave you shit just for doing your job?

My theory is that my next root could be related to the next person I bump into so I'd better be nice. Has positive side effects this one.

what's everyones take on their presence and the hassle factor so far this summer? are they getting worse, better? and please don't answer me with a 'police are wankers man, they suck'. i don't wanna hear it.

cheers

Police presence for summer, i want to know a summer without how else you think these honourable men and women buy gifts for their families?

“I have to buy little Timmy a new racer this year mmm”?

“Ah excellent a Skyline that should be Timmy’s presi taken care of”

:bs!: is what it is

Kink: the same command area searched my car twice this year for no reason after performing 'random' breath tests. This is my local area, sometimes i am within sight of my house when i get pulled over. I guess i was just tired and wanted to get home after workin a 55hr 6 day week. Keep a workin man down bro!!! lol

Instead of the horn i use my finger, but i guess that won't stop a b-double let alone a mini.

Cool, looks like im right to get loaded and speed home with an overloaded Skyline as they dont care about us law obiding Windsor folk :)

I have only ever really been pulled over for RBTs, rarely get pulled over in traffic, i think its because if they do warrant checks etc on a plate before pulling a car over they will find i have never been booked so leave me in peace.

Heres to hoping everyone gets thru Xmas/summer with their car/licence/bank balance and persons intact...oh and merry xmas ppl

you guys out west already had your turn Roy!

"Operation RoadSafe was based on the successful Operation WestSafe, which resulted in a 28 per cent reduction in fatalities in Western Sydney"

i got done by the westsafe blitz when it was on...got pulled over and fined on the Northern Rd :P

the cop told me to slow down because there's a lot of accidents on that road - well i know why!! it's not because of speeding... it's because of the knobs who sit on 60 or 70 in an 80 zone, and then ppl get the shits and overtake where it's not safe. Which is most of that road! I bet a few more overtaking lanes would lower crashes significantly..

it's because of the knobs who sit on 60 or 70 in an 80 zone, and then ppl get the shits and overtake where it's not safe.

Thats exactly how I got done about 5wks ago (112 in an 80 zone).

I got stuck behind a knob doing 65 in an 80 zone all the way from Luddenham (about 15mins before Oran Park). Finally got to a new section of road that had an overtaking lane so I overtook... Forgot to back off though and a Hwy Patrol caught be at a bad moment :(

Then whilst I was on the side of the road that same lady cop pulled over 3 other cars :)

    • UPDATE: Hi all!  As we are getting towards the end of this thread where I’ll showcase final dyno numbers and graph, I wanted to provide an update. Tao from HyperGear has done an amazing job building the custom divided T3 housing for the G30. Communication was flawless, price was great, and now the housing is estimated to arrive in 7-10 days! Very very pleased. I must add, if someone is looking for an affordable turbo and end up reading this thread, I would recommend HyperGear. Genuine brands are the way to go as their proven reliability, predictable performance, and there’s a plethora of information available for specs, flow, and more. This HyperGear recommendation is based on their excellent communication, dedication, and willingness to listen to their customers. I particularly liked their ability to create custom adaptations tailored to specific needs, which is a HUGE benefit over other brands. And if we consider the HyperGear provided dyno results, it adds reassurance knowing their turbos can compete against genuine brands. Next update will be after the dyno!
    • I've previously seen people post up "dress up bolt kits" for RBs but don't remember seeing them specify the full contents. I can only really suggest you grab the verniers and start measuring, and keep in mind the cam cover and timing cover bolts are both quite specific with a wider unthreaded section where the bushes sit, that will make it hard to get aftermarket replacements which tend to be all thread (set screws) or for longer bolts a flat section with a shorter threaded section at the end
    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
    • Wasn't there a thread on this very subject just a few weeks ago?
    • Hi all! Looking to relocate the battery to the trunk of an R34 GTT. I want to do it using as many stock GTR components as I can (including the harness protectors from the 34 GTR that run underneath along the chassis to the engine bay). So far I’ve purchased the battery tray from a 33 GTR, as the captive weld nuts are already there just asking to be used. There is also the slight issue of now having to relocate the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU, which in GTT’s sits right above where the battery will then sit on the tray. Has anyone already achieved this, and if you have any pics that you wouldn’t mind sharing? It would be great to see how others have done it and where you put them, as there are countless holes in the parcel shelf panel to potentially use. Just trying to get some ideas bounced around, and to help uncover any potential problems I may encounter by  my choice of location. TIA for any help!
