Hi,

I'm new to Skyline ownership and to this forum. There seems to be heaps of great advice on here.

I have a series 2 1997 R33 GTS-T which is completely stock (apart from a K&N panel filter). I understand the boost pressure will be 5psi up to 4500rpm and 7psi thereafter in standard form.

If I was to fit a manual boost controller (probably Turbotech after reading the positive reviews on here), would there be any problems running 9 - 10psi and retaining the stock exhaust?

I've tried searching the forums but please point me in the right direction if this has already been covered.

I would be doing atleast a intercooler upgrade and at a minimum catback exhust before boosting it up but prefably do the cat and front pipe there is just to much restrciton in the stock parts

I will be doing the exhaust at some point but for now I was just looking at increasing the boost at lower revs. Rather than remove the 2 stage boost by grounding the stock solenoid valve, I figured I'd fit a manual boost controller to do the same thing and therefore removing the solenoid all together.

I understand the exhaust can take the 7psi doing this but I was wondering if it could take a little bit more - up to say 9 or 10psi.

I realise I won't get the maximum benefit from increasing the boost if I keep the standard exhaust, but will keeping the standard exhaust actually cause any problems?

I generally don't drive the car very hard but I would like the increased power in the lower rev range.

Thanks for your help
