has anyone ever read the ohms across the terminals?

Would be more worthwhile just getting a new set i reckon...

In saying that i've got a second hand set of 6 that work. As for misfiring i'm not too sure on mine but you'll probably find it's just one or two of yours that is doing it so if you get a full set you should be able to mix and match until you're in luck.
