Advice Jarrod on this forum any form of aftermarket rims that are not light weight, forged, and mainly japanese you will get flogged for it, i got a set of 20inch wheels given to me for a present i have been hassled and abused for them on this forum until i took my avatar picture of because they were chinese. They looked great but on a GTR was sacrilege to have. lol

So the choice is yours if you like them and they look great buy them if you are going to wait and see what peoples opinions on this forum are and base your choice on that i think you are wasting your time as you will get haters, and others that think they know alot but dont. Do what pleases yourself.

Although you will loose performance as they usually are heavier hence why the purist only like light weight forged like myself i have a set of R34 GTR rims.

cheers,,Dave.

As MR GTR-32 said you will never please everyone but do what you like. As mentioned you will probably loose a little bit of performance with the wheels being quite heavy I think. But it depends what you are doing with the car.

My mate had 19's on his r34 and it looked good no rubbing but he didn't have superlows :D so you might get some when parking or something I'm not 100% though

sorry if im blind but 19 x ? the width and offset is were your difficulty may come from not the 19" side of things.

as mentioned above these wont be highly recommended by anyone because they are more suited to holdens but hey its your car.. they are quite cheap so dont expect much and the tyres will be useless if you like traction.

if your planning to just drive around and want some wheels that look better then stock then go for it.. you wont find much better for less.

but second hand rims might be a good option for u.

mate just food for thought... i bought second hand r34 gtr rims with yokohama S drive tyres, for just a small amount more than what you're planning to pay here. they are very light, and being 9" wide they grip very well and look mean. i've had nothing but kind comments from people to whom i've spoken about them.

those wheels will probably hurt your performance (not sure if that is a factor for you), and i would suspect the tyres they provide will be nothing special.

if you really want those rims of course it's your choice, but just know that it's worth shopping around :P

It's totally up to you mate. I've bought a set of 19" speedy rims from this company and they look good. The thing that ppl have to keep in mind, is that not everybody has 4k plus to spend on jap wheels, so what ever you can afford mate is up to you. I bought the rims only off them and put my own tyres on. Again I wasn't going to be spending an absolute fortune on tyres either, so I put a set of $180 tyres under her and away we went. Oh yeah, my car has 425rwhp and I don't have issuses with traction.

you dont need 4k for jap rims... unless your talking brand new..

i think in fairness he doesnt know alot about rims as he has left out the important details so i would say they are very good value for what they are.

$180 tyres on 19" rim

can u pls tell me brand and specs?

thanks.

Mate they are just a cheap tyre. 235 45 19. And I am talikng brand new. It's not easy finding a set of Jap rims that don't have rash on them for a decent price and that suit your ride. If they don't have rash on them they are still asking high prices for them. I went and checked out s/hand jap rims before settling with what I have now, and I will never believe anybody when they say,"has little rash" on them. Thats my opinion, not everyone elses and it is what I have experienced anyway.

235/45R19's are massive mate...you sure that's the right size?

Without widths, offsets and PCD it's going to be impossible to say.

Are you paying too much? It's hard to say. It's cheap for good 19" rims, but they're Speedy Wheels so that's not what we're talking about.

sup guys thanks alot for ur intuition.i have since ditched these wheels and went to 18s starcorp fusion from tempe and im glad i didnt get 19s coz my roads are shit here for a low profile tyre and i didnt get them for performance i got em coz im sick of stock wheels.any ways thanks jarrod.

    • This is a story of my life things, I learned eventually (thanks to someone calling me out) that my enthusiasm for discussing and sharing ideas that it came across as arrogance and I'm like... WTF?!    One thing I'm pretty sure I justifiably pride myself on is knowing that everyone will have things they can teach you, and you're always going to find out that something you think you know turns out wrong - you just don't know what it is until you get there.   Just the bursting enthusiasm that comes with ADHD when you hit something that gives you dopamine dumps can come across like you think everyone else is wrong or don't matter. But yeah, I'm a software engineer by trade and also do tuning in weekends and 100% have long had a reputation for  quickly making connections when resolving problems or forming solutions that I've sometimes had to take people form a long walk from start to end to explain how I ended up where I did when it's seemed "too simple" when I've stated my initial case, and had the "WTF" type reaction when they've realised how much was actually considered haha.   My reward is that I get all the curly problems thrown at me.
    • Wives never seem to find things funny. Especially when they're trying to sleep, and you've found the new funniest thing ever. I've never seen someone be able to get try and be cranky with me, while they're holding back fits of laughter... 😛   Also, I tell mine it's payback anyway. She has BiPolar. So the household can get quite emotionally wild at times 😛
    • I'm not up to date on the latest, but for basic modifications like pod filter, lower springs etc you can get a modification permit at the time of inspection.  For more serious modifications you will need engineering.  Intercoolers used to fall into the mod permit rule but its been a long while since i looked it up.   Either way you will be able to get it registered, just a case of $300 vs $3k .
    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
