so next time, I'd say there will be no awards. come and show off the cars and enjoy the day and meet new ppl.. that will be about it

I had a top day ... a great venue being in the shade with open sides ... a big thankyou to Terry Ashwood & team for trailering the R32 GT-R Windfield Race Car all the way down from Queensland - thats a huge effort & very generous gesture indeed ... ...

Really nice for me to see that the "BLING" era is almost over with so many cars being prepped with "drivability - reliability - performance" in mind rather then "head unit - widescreen - mp3" ... ...

Loved the RC cars ... the KPGC10 actually had Watanabe wheels - siiiiiick !! ... ...

Highlights of the day: Windfield car - R33 GT-R LM Limited - Raspberry Slushie - meeting Johnny aka GTR-32U - getting a trophy - wow!

Disappointment of the day: Witness 2 entrants wilfully abandon criteria under which their New South Wales Drivers Licences & Comprehensive Insurance Policies remain validated

by engaging their vehicles in an inappropriate manner in an uncontrolled environment.

"A member of my family was killed when she was only 10 years old by a MORON showing off to his mates in a public carpark" - youre both idiots !!

Cheers Malcolm....It was great to finally put a face to car......I have to admit your car was jaw dropping. It really does look as if it just drove off the showroom floor only minutes before the show. I took a look inside and couldnt even find a speck of dust. I remember you offering me to have a sit inside, However I didnt want it to be a case of " Monkey see , monkey do " In other words I figured if people seen me park my hefty behind in the car they may figure its ok for them to do the same themselves....So maybe another time regarding that... I also quite liked the Blue GTR LM , However I had to be content with a look around the outside as it was always closed with windows up whenever I went past...Immaculate as well however

All in all a TOP show and cannot wait for the next one

God i hope it was a coincidence that it happened after i came home from the show, but my car got broken into and attempted stolen last night

Just wanted to say anyone that is putting together DVDs of the day please PM and ill happily buy copies. I was taking photos on my cheap digi camera then decided it would be best to get copies of your guys DSLR photos instead. And my camera got stolen from the car anyway...

Can't wait for the next show See you guys at christmas cruise or texikhana!

Glad to hear the attempted theft was botched. I was the guy who you were talking to when Malcolm was installing the sticker on your front windscreen. I have to admit you have a pretty impressive list of mechanical upgrades to this car.....Loved the Coffin ( Plenum ) and what you did with the glovebox...

great thread over on japanesenostalgiccar.com Kevin, you did a great job capturing most of the most interesting/rare cars. One you may not have known about is the white 32 you caught in the gtr pic is a genuine N1 spec as well. It was great to have so many rare cars there - thraso's R33 LM spec was another great example.

There's always going to be disagreements on awards. But I think it's really nice to see people with nice cars get recognised for that.

I think it would be disappointing to see them disappear all together.

at the end of the day you build your car for you, not for other people, and the reward is when other people comment on your build, that is good enough trophy for me. Even when Duncan whinges about my old pushrod dino-line, its a compliment, trophy enough.

How's your daughter, now that she's home? From experience, there's no better place to make a recovery - hospitals might have you close to where all the best medical care is, but there's nothing like the comfort of familiar surroundings to help put your mind at ease!

Sorry you didnt get to much a chance of getting a look inside, a few guys asked to have a look inside and was more than happy to oblige,I guess next time, but it was closed because most the time i was no where near it i seriously checked every car out about 4-5 times and still couldn't get enough not to mention all the talking. Also loved the rare cars on display, would of been nice if we could of had them all together would of been some nice photos , Also loved the race cars.

My car had to have taken the award for most stock/boring looking white r33 and i was wandering back towards it when i noticed a young bloke taking photos of it. I had a chuckle and said "youve gotta be the first person ive ever seen take photos of my car.." He looked at me and said "every skyline deserves a photo mate."

This has to be the true spirit of a Show 'n Shine ^^^ all wrapped up in that young guy's comment,

"Every Skyline deserves a photo mate!"

I personally enjoyed the friendliness on the day with Genelle (Humbla), Thraso (GT-R_LM), Dave (Dave074), Terry Ashwood, Shehan, David (Aggroman), Adrian, Linton, and of course my dear son Matt.

I think it's a shame that the committee are considering not having awards next year. Such a shame.

I know when we handed out the awards from the R34 GT-R cruise, people were stoked, and as someone suggested, that was a "Peoples choice" that included a ballot type system. Seemed to work well.

Hopefully i'll make the next one (hopefully even might have a GT-R to enter) - if not, will be good to meet some peeps

Last time the ballot system for peoples choice became a "who had the most friends on the day" award.

Unless you have a lot more punters walking through the show to balance that out, it doesn't work.

Nice little anecdote Sean, and hope you can get your car fixed up like new, shame to have that incident tarnish an otherwise great day.

Of course I would have loved to have taken home an award but my BCNR33 faced stiff competition from the others, especially as my engine bay is stock (a bit of a rarity there) and hence the bonnet remained closed... until I got asked by some fellas (who I soon found out were judges) to open my bonnet. To which I responded "um, sure ok, but it's only stock", and the judges couldn't help but sound a little disappointed I think...

Main thing is I had a great time checking out some awesome specimens... next time I will definitely bring some fold up chairs though - my feet were shot by the end of it
