In a _stock_ R32 GTR 1:09 would be scorching. Who did that?

Regards,

Saliya

fancy rubber a stock gtr would coast a 1.09

agreed. I've done a 1.08.02 in my production car. still miles behind what Duncan is doing in the r35, they are an outrageously quick track car out of the box.

Come on fatz, Duncan:

A) Fancy rubber != stock, right? And decent rubber's worth about 2 seconds on that track?

B) Duncan's proddy car is an R32 GTR N1, right? - not a standard R32 GTR?

C) Was the car that did 1.08.02 as-supplied-by-Nissan? Really?

D) You _can_ drive a bit, can't you? And you've posted your "scorching" time, not your "coasting" time?

I don't know the answers to B, C, D but I still don't see a _stock_ R32 GTR turning in lazy 1:09s.

First, we have to find one; then convince one of you guys to pilot it

What I'm getting at is that "the gap between the R35 and R32 is bigger than it looks".

Cheers,

Saliya

lol all true! its on good rubber (kumho v70A), has bilstein springs, eibach shocks and a power FC. And yes its an N1. And yes that is the quickest I've been around there in prod car specs. On the other hand it is over standard weight and running standard 12psi boost.

No doubt the r35 is at least 3 seconds quicker than the r32, which itself is no slouch.

I hear there was a '2' lap today in the R35, now thats starting to move :)

Dont worry LSX-438 you will soon be getting 'the computer drives it for you' - my personal favourite! :action-smiley-069:

wow what a day, can't believe we're running 1:02's now. This car never ceases to amaze, even a year down the track. Thanks for the tune Martin, working a charm.

Very impressed with the times!

To put throw a few other cars times up- a dude off ausrotary did a 1.01 in his FD RX7 track car on 19 inh slicks, t04z- but as I said- full track car.

The Unique Autosports 300zx has done a 1.04.65- http://www.advanwheels.com.au/cars/unique-300zx.aspx

That was 'ADJUST'... The 'gentleman' who featured in the other thread which basically turned to shit. He ran a 1.01.1 on old ex-24hr Nurburgring slicks (Ric Shaw's), same as this the cars in this thread. Amazing for a heated up 20 year old design.

That time for a R35 GTR is just bloody quick considering how new they are, for a street car or not. I can't imagine where they will be in 20 years. :)

Good parallel GT-R32!

Judging on that pace you need to run a 59 something ish then LSX-438, maybe in fantasyland :)

So nice though in a car you can drive to and from the track with a tyre change.

I think I see E85 and another 80hp in your future LSX... :)

that was a practice day, no official times. Last time out with natsoft timing at wakefield (on re55's) i ran a 1:05.3 i think, so the slicks seem to be good for a second or so around there. We'll be going out again in the next few days to improve on these times i hope. Does anyone think we could manage a 1:02?

Would not worry too much about crapsoft/datron "transponder held in shopping bag out side door of car LOL" results :D if you have a Race Logic (even ghetto spec $800 dollar unit) then you have accurate times simple as that :ermm:

Good job mate

sorry but no way is a GPS receiver more accurate than a dorian.

GPS is no quicker than 1/20th a second. Dorian reads 1/1000th

GPS is no more accurate than 1m. Dorian reads to under 10cm

As long as the dorian is mounted properly of course....if it moves relative to the car it will give an inaccurate result.

You sir need to learn what you are talking about and who you are talking too before you post another foolish set as above

Love the interweb :)

When you have your own $50k worth of #1 testing gear used all over the planet come talk to me. What I typed is correct, as I am the only person here qualified to type it as I have tested it, I own it, I use it all the time, Maybe though you with your internetz "opinion" should pass on your information to some others who test professionally I'm sure they would laugh at you pretty hard just as I am now :D

If you get a time on your low spec race logic GPS machine, I can tell you in reference to my unit it will be right. That was the point of my post was to assure people from facts that you do not need to rely on someone else to measure your car when you have the technology to do it yourself. No need for you to qualify your comments saying it was not "official" or measured with XYZ reference, they are irrelevant in this day and age and open to error anyway (both human and mechanical/electronic).

although this is getting off topic, I found my sprint track lap at QR the other week was a full 0.8 seconds faster (58.2 versus 59.0) recorded via the Video Vbox lite versus the transponder thingy on the windscreen they plaster on. The unit quotes sampling at 10 Hz and of course as above, using algorithms to factor in velocity etc to improve accuracy. Any more thinking about it than that however makes my head hurt so I will concentrate on driving better. I hope the errors in each unit though are all relative and not random. reliable incremental gains are what we are all after, not just outright times.

back to the topic at hand

You've convinced me Dunc - 18 inch wheels & slicks, Cobb tune and maybe, just maybe an R2.two are all coming soon.
