my house became very loud when the accident occured. It was dissapointing for Webber. He deserved another win

Was i the only person hoping that Button and Homo would crash into eachother then Webber takes the win, when they were fighting for the lead

I was on the edge of my seat hoping for exactly that! Then they said they were low on fuel, right to the last corner I was praying they would chug to a stop while Webber swept past for the win that was rightfully his!

My god, I am still f**king fuming over that incident, but very content that my McLaren boys came home with a 1-2.

I did like the Red Bull team, had a fair bit of respect for them, but that is all but gone now with that little baby clearly having the call of team orders and priority out on the track. I find it disgusting, and in this age of F1 it's uncalled for. The body language after the incident between Newey, Horner, and Vettel was clear straight away that the finger-pointing would be going towards Webber. Loved how dramatic Webber made it look when discussing the situation with Hamilton though :ermm:

Troy, do you have a quote on what Whitmarsh said?

I'm still absolutely livid.... Right now I could beat Sebastian Vettel to death with a bratwurst I'm that upset!!! What makes it even worse is the fact that the Red Bull team principal and sporting director have backed Seb... He just drove straight into Webber.. I'm fuming like there's no tomorrow!!!!! WHAAATTT THE FAAAARRRRKK!!!! U F*CKING N00B VETTEL!!!!!

When you are racing and being passed

You are not supposed to pull over you are to stay on your racing line

Mark Webber was doing it text book style

The other idiot came across its simple and you really cant change the facts

Mark looks like he was about to cry and I dont blame him I have done lots of racing but nothing like wining a race at the pinnacle of the sport.

And to have it taken away from you a 3 win streak with a possibility of looking at fourth its disgusting and very upsetting

so very angry. watching the race nearly all the overtaking moves were done at that spot of the track with the overtaking car going down the right hand side of the track (ie outside for the left hander then claiming the inside for the right hander immediately after it). if you watched hamilton following webber whenever he was close he would dart to the left and get absolutely no where as the track was dirty there and also quite bumpy in the braking zone. the best line was the right hand line where mark was. vettel is so used to pulling cheeky moves and having webber be the one to finally call it off for the sake of the team and every time he does vettel stabs him in the back. I think he's sick of being a doormat for a punk who may be younger but is arguably no more talented than mark. mark did 100% the right thing. vettel is a little twat who is never happy unless he's the centre of attention or winning. he cannot stand webber beating him and his attitude is basically let me through or we crash...

I don't know what is more disappointing. vettels causing the incident or the behaviour of the RBR team afterwards? I felt sick watching all the guys on the pit wall commiserating with vettel like he was hard done by. they should have been berating him and he should have been on his knees apologising to the team and to mark for taking a guaranteed 1/2 finish and turning it into a single 3rd plate with their closest rivals getting 1/2. they clearly seem to think webber should roll over a be a number 2 driver like DC at maclaren or anyone at ferrari in the schumacher days. why? webber is easily vettel's equal. and I think mentally tougher and physically fitter too. how about actually practising what they keep preaching and actually treating their drivers equally.

I was hoping webber would cut sick in the conference but I was very proud to see how professionally he handed it. even when given very leading questions he managed to avoid really saying anything bad about what happened and stayed very calm. true professional.

all that's left is for webber to take the 2010 WDC and maybe give vettel a good kicking on and off the track.

Then speaking to a mate last night....he had it 1000% right. Vettel will put Webber to the sword as he think in a game of chicken which will see the cars make contact Webber will flinch first in the interest of the team. Well i am with Webber on this one. He had to set the record straight getting to the halfway season mark.

I dunno who this mystery 'mate' is but I bet he's good looking as hell and hung like a donkey. :ermm:

I agree with everything you said Richard, 100%! I too was proud of Webber's conduct in the post race interview, as much as a part of me wished he'd unleash a-broadside on Seb, he acted like a true racing gentleman. He's definitely taken that mantle since DC retired! :ermm:

I agree he's mentally stronger, more focused, more determined, physically fitter and arguably the among the top 5 ballsiest drivers on the grid (Along with Schu, Lou, Nando and Koob). Let us not forget, he's been hardened by years in crap machinery, poor reliability and general poor luck.. I think his time may very well be now!

On a side note, Kobayashi looked racy, I think he might be finding some of that spark from last year, it is both good for him and the team! Also, I wrote off Petrov as some pay-driver hack, so far he's impressed me a lot, both in China and yesterday. He was sadly denied points by an over-zealous Alonso, and nice to see Nando go up and apologise to him after the race... I think Pettyrov is winning me over..

i watched the telecast on One last night and they showed the incar footage a few times and it looked bad to say the least, but tonight on the news they showed footage from the front, with the cars coming towards you and it looked even worse.

i think vets realised that he was on the wrong side of the track and was going to outbrake himself and panicked. Ive lost all respect for him and depending on how RBR conduct themselves in the coming weeks they can go and get f#cked also. Especially if thet were responcible for putting the drivers that close together by telling Mark to turn the wick down and vettel to push.

Well Horner gets a good nights sleep and takes another dig at Webber

"It is right to let the drivers race - we saw McLaren letting their drivers race - but when drivers are in the same team it is important they give each other a bit more respect and concede if one has got a run on the other."

So they are blaming Webber

Need i say more...Vettel your a f**kwit, RBR are wankers for taking the spoilt brats side...Kids these days don't know how good they've got it do they, beleive we've got a new spoilt brat in the pack and that would be Vettel...For every commentator thats commented (bar Eddie Jordan) on it to say that it was Vettels fault and then RBR to say it was Marks...What a load of rubbish

You can see Horner saying "move, move, move". There is no doubt that they think Webber was the main offender. Reach arounds all round on pit wall while Mark is still out there trying to get points for the team :)

I hope RBR's cars fall into a stack of uncompetitve stack of crap. Sorry Mark, you will be collatoral damage and i want to see the team go backwards and implode. The fact that they are circling their support around Vettel for what i feel is a racing accident then ... they can get farked.

The fact that Vettel clearly palyed the larger role in the downfall of the team over the weekend...what was Seb doing in quali, leaving late from the pits and taking the better track position for quali????

RBR, either get your shit together or come clean and say it how it is. I think i will fix Horners press release...

It is right to let the drivers race - we saw McLaren letting their drivers race - but when drivers are in the same team it is important that when Seb shows Mark no respect Mark should concede position to Vettel when he has a run on him."

NOICE!!!! :):D:)

I suspect this will blow over provided RBR keep ahead of McLaren. If McLaren bag a few wins on the next few rounds and RBR fall back to 3-5 places then i think this will simmer and ruin their season. I don't think Webbers contract negotiation will be all that straight forward now, especially if Horner doesnt let go and wants Vettel in the lead.

Isnt Marko the guy pushing ll the RBR young talent. Could see another young Aussie in STR next year and Buemi getting the nod....relaly depends how the team handle this. So far its been pretty badly. Mark has been pretty quiet and neutral. Vettel accepting no blame and saying it was his corner and Webbers fault, the team saying it was Webbers place to give away the position and the fact he didnt meant he was responsible for Vettel cutting him up.....so it leaves Mark playing the team game and not speaking out....the question must be, for how long?

    • Oh, and only having done this task yesterday, I've now driven the car ~60km since, and while it is hard to avoid placebo effect and confirmation bias, I reckon that some annoyances I had with the way the car has been behaving have improved. Which....kinda makes sense, I guess. If the bushes were really stiff and resisting rotation, they would have been contributing to the effective wheel rate. And if it was more so on one side (which it was, because one side was worse than the other) then.... you might imagine that the additional rate would be asymmetric, and potentially even different between compression and rebound. And so... the car has been twitchy at higher speeds - like freeway on ramps. It really shouldn't be. The wheel alignment is good and there are no (other) known problems elsewhere in the suspension. But at 90-100 on a long sweeping ramp, tiny steering wheel motions would make it feel like it wanted to rear steer. Quite nervous. At lower speeds it would heave about in a manner that it didn't use to. Didn't want to put power down, etc etc. Now...seems to behave better. Am going to have to concentrate on the various corners where it has exhibited weirdness, on the rare occasions when I can get a decent run at them without Methanial getting in the way in his D-Max/Ranger/LDV Van/etc.
