What To Look For When Buying A R32

Recommended Posts

Me? I'd firstly look at R32s that were available on SAU F/S section.

Sure it's still caveat emptor but an SAU member with good Trader Rating is less likely to sell you a dud...

But now you're looking at a particular one...

i) take a mechanic with you (particularly one who's familiar with Skylines) with his checklist on CVs, Susp'n, Bushes, Engine mounts, Coolant, Oil (burnt smell, sludge, consistency, grit/metal), Engine with compression testing, wheel damage/alignment/camber/castor, bearings, irregular tyre wear, tramlining, brakes (which on a R32 need an upgrade)

ii) + someone familiar with panelwork with his checklist on rust, repaired damage, straightness/integrity of rails/crossmembers, damage to suspension parts, crabbing, body straightness, door closure/dropping,

iii) + yourself with your checklist on heater, air cond, window winders, rattles, upholstery, carpet, wear on bolsters & steering wheel & ignition barrel wear relative to what the odometer says,

If you don't have all 3X, you'll need to multi-task.

Even then, because it's a slack time of year to sell cars, you may have the upper hand; so take an older dude (like me lol) with you later on to haggle.

I don't know where you live, but I'm afraid that I have to let you know that I don't live near you because I'm a hermit (lol)

There we are bOmb3rz... ^^^ an SAUer with a good Trader Rating.

RB_Ryan = a man who wouldn't be able to lie straight in bed if he sold you a lemon! Or at least compare... it can be worth the effort!
