Am currently been looking for an rb20det to slap into my gtst as the old on blew.

Have found one local but the guy selling it told me he has many rb20's including a couple de's that he converted to turbos which kinda got me worried.

am going to chek the motor out later was wondering if there are any diffrences with regard to codes on the head and block.I was told the turbo head had a 73L on it ?????

can anyone confirm this or give me any other details beside this would be sweeeet

Cheers

i think he means the block rather than a complete motor.

I dont actually know the difference Im sorry so I cant answer your question, just chimed in to make sure ppl get ur point.

I would take a stab and say that the DE wont have all the correct oil and water feeds BUT I have known certain types of motor to have the oil and water feeds available on both DE and DET, yet the sump return to usually be blocked or missing... could someone confirm?

Yea that exactly what i mean, seems there are alot of people these days converting thier de's to +t's and i dont wanna be one to buy a non turbo motor for the price of a turbo motor ya know.

heres a pic of the motor for reference if any one can spot anything.

BTW take no note of the loom as it has been modified to suit a cefiro

any help would be much appreciated

Have a look on the exhaust manifold to see if all the nuts are rusted into place haha If they are its probably a det :) Just on a side note. Remove that pink shit before you start. Im laughing just thinking about it getting sucked into the engine.

    • Evening fam, Pretty much what the title asks, I have looked all over and can’t find a proper answer expect one post from almost a decade ago which is vague. ive seen photos and they look pretty much identical, would an r33 GTR N1 reo work on an r32? reason I ask is they are cheaper to buy… $700 compared to 1k+ for an r32 n1 reo

    • Yeah was thinking that. I've had the car go lower idle possibly around 650rpm every once in a long time after pouring fuel and would sound quite rough like a misfire, almost like it's shit fuel or something but who knows.

Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.    I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.    I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital? If you have ideas about that let me know.    https://gtrfestival.com.au
