yeah ive checked that out...those guys are expensive, any mobile guy is gonna charge u a bomb!!

i read up on google, some ppl actually remove the key latch at the boot compartment and take it to the lock smith, since its a car with no fancy alarm or anti theft system, i suppose i cud do that ?

Yea do it that way. When my bro lost his key he got a mobile mechanic to come out. They had to take out the drivers side lock (because it has the code on it) so they could make a new key.

not sure mate, because i think its ONLY the drivers side lock that actually has the key code on it. Maybe someone else can confirm if any other locks have the code written on it.

i took off the boot key,

locksmith did it, but ignition isnt working.

all doors unlock fine but ignition doesnt work.

locksmith said there are 8 codes on key for doors/boot plus 2 more for ignition, he cudnt figure out the last two or some shit...

damn .... i have taken out the ignition barrel, going to take it to the same locksmith - hopefully that helps...

Taking out the ignition barrel helps in one of two ways only. A...they decide to do the fiddly thing, try and see which wafers are set in the current configuration, pull the code from those numbers, cut a key and hope to god they were right. B, they cut a new key and change the wafers in every lock on the car to match the new key...handy if ur key has been stolen, does no good if u try and get a pre-cut key from nissan as the code will no longer be right for that vehicle. Expect to pay through the teeth to re-key your entire vehicle. thats at least 2 hours labour IF they work hard on it.

As per Kris' above comments...the drivers side door lock is the only lock with the correct code stamped into the tail piece of the lock. Keying it to the boot will not achieve anything but a nice new boot key. Your best bet is to exorcise the drivers side door lock - because trust me getting it out seems like a pain but will save you time, money and grief in the meantime.

Or hell...you could go to Nissan and ask them to ship you a new pre-cut key overnight from Japan :(
