Hey guys,

Well I bought an R33 auto coz im lazy (arent we all) but I'm kinda missing changing gears :D

Was thinking about doing a manual conversion, but like I said I'm lazy so I dont want to get stuck in traffic and have to do it all myself!

Anybody got any thoughts on putting in a tiptronic transmission? Is it even possible? I know it was an option on the R34's but how would I go slapping one in an R33??

Any feedback much appreceiated :(

Cheers

Haha sorry, No idea actually. I don't thnik tiptronic would have the same affect as you still only have 4 cogs. I'd go the manual conversion instead of tiptronic. Just my idea but yeah, much more fun in a manual, especially a turbo

I think there was a sequential shift kit floating around somewhere. Not sure what company, and i think it was for a WRX - but that could be a possibility?

sorry, but i don't know about auto to steptronic conversions...

i have been thinking about this too as mine is auto. I think it will cause alot of problems trying to get it working properly electronically speaking. I dont know if the 34 tiptronic box has its own ecu to the main one, but it would need something to tell it what to do.

I think putting a r34 ecu in the 33 would cause problems too. I would like to hear if someone has had success doing this though

do much electronics to muck around with and will cost you a arm and a leg with the auto electrician the r34 triptronic has its own ecu which would also have some connections to the r34 main ecu which would cause problems. Too much ****ing around..also you would need the console for the gear stick made up etc cost extra money too..My 2 cents

from what people have said with the triptronic down shifting is very good but going up the gears the reaction time is pretty average.
