There is a proposal for a new ANDRA drag racing complex in Melbourne with a 4 lane drag racing strip around the Avalon area.There is a public rally and car show at Melbourne Show Grounds on the 20th February 2010.

This is something Melbourne needs so get behind it Sau vic members and friends

Calder just spent money upgrading the facilities?

SO WHY THE HELL did Bob not do enough improvement to get it to ANDRA spec? how much more would it have cost if they wre already upgrading? And he would have the drags back and lots of income again.

Im Bumping this for all the drifters and people who want to do DECA style stuff as well closer to melbourne than winton!

If you call the money spent on it lately "upgrading" then that's where your issue lies.

It was simply money to bring it back to mediocre level... up from dilapidated.

Calder has a LONG way to go before it would ever be ANDRA certified... hence nothing has gone on there since the 1990's.
