what are the rules for headlight heat range in qld?

i read in a WA topic it was 6000k or less, however 6000k only come in a HID.

does that mean a HID kit of 6000k can be fitted to stock R33 headlight casing?

any help would be greatly appreciated

hey mate you can have Legally 8000K in any car as long as your HID is ADR Approved , which means the bulbs have a small metal shield on them to prevent your hid's dazzling the other drivers on comming traffic , also ADR approved ballasts are water sealed and have electronic ignitors

my advice is 6400K is the best they give you 2x longer beam then standard 10x better brightness to standard halogen bulbs , to fit HID in R33's use H1 HID kit , GTR Series 3 uses D2S Bulb only as they came factory with HID , same with R34's

Tip :- after hids are installed use mild cut and polish to clean your headlights to get best results

hey mate

cheers for all that

i remember reading somwhere that the limit was no higher than 6000k?

do you know what brands make adr approved hids to fit a 33?

alot of ebay ones ive heard are actually of quite good quality

hey mate most of the korean made have DOT approval same as the European made ones .. unfortnatly most ebay ones that are made in China arent DOT approved hence they are dirt cheap 70 bucks a set... DOT approved ones come with sheilded wiring , DOT approved AMP connectors, CFC free caps which are enviro friendly , and euro mark approved which gives it a higher spec class then standard xennon factroy items .... if you do buy off ebay buy korean ones thye are better ...

ah ok,

cheers mate.

am i correct in saying though that if hid's are fitted they need a projector to concentrate the light beam?

or can u put HID's in a car without projectors?

no your car doesnt need projectors at all to have HID , if you get a good quality kit you wont have the on comming traffic dazzel problem , a good kit once installed wont need any adjustments

hey mate,

thats cleared alot of things up, cheers for all the info?

is there anything else i should know about hid's before i buy and install some?

just one questions, are hid's without a projector legal though? as long as they dont dazzle other drivers?

hey mate try and get HID's with AMP connecters that are plug and play (this means you wont need to modify your headlights or your factory wiring system) , also get 6500K as it gives the best modern look and brightness 8000K onwards arent the brightest (brightness in terms of beam length) , yes you will be legal as long as you have a DOT approved or Euro ISO approved HID as i said previously the cheap chinese ones arent DOT approved usually lasts 3-6 months max ... failing that if you cant get any at all give me a pm i can get you 6500K DOT approved ones for under 250 bucks installed in your 33

hey mate

cheers for that,

im prob looking at buying some in maybe 3-4 weeks or so.

is installation hard?

i think the main thing is actually making them level to not dazzle people.
