I'm down to 1:38 with the stock controller, tuned, TC on 6, front bar view, MT. Don't think I can get down to 1:35 though without a wheel or some kind of miracle. I should probably have spent more time on it though. Only played it for maybe an hour or 2 all up. I can only do about 5 or 6 laps before I start to get a saw thumb! too much gaming as a kid I think.

I find tuned easier to 'drive' but you're right it seems easier to get a better ranking on normal as I think most guys prefer tuned and spend most time on that.

I got down to a flat 1.40 with hand controller. As above, cant stop wheel spin with my thumb. Damn, it finishes tomorrow.

Try using L2 and R2 for brake and accel... It is easier to apply and regulate throttle/brake... It takes some getting used to tho! :-)
