Hey guys, ok , i got a 33gtst. Took it for a long drive to the country on the weekend (about 4 hours away) for a 21st.

Before the drive, i checked all the liquid levels and made sure i topped everything up, as i always do. Ran fine there..didnt drive it till a few days later, comin back to melb.

On the way back, my pasenger mentioned that that there was something dripping from under the dash. We were almost home, so dropped her off and had a look wen i got home. Theres a white container under the passenger side dash and there was a steady drip coming from it. I thought maybe the screws holding the thing together were loose, i tightened them,,nothing.. Then i noticed that on the passenger side of the wind screen as soon as i stopped driving, it started to fog up.

I used to have a prblem with an intake coolant pipe in the engine bay, so i checked and re checked it and it seems to be all good. i've checked as many hoses as i can under there for cracks, but they feel fine.

Im really confused now, this has never happened before. When I checked the radiator a while later, it had been almost drained of coolant and there was very little pressure when i squeezed the hoses.

Any of u guys kno wats going on? where this leak might be or if my aircon is jus screwed?

I cant get the car to a mech now coz theyre all closed till next week, and i might not even get the car back till after new years.

I filled up with coolant and water today and let it idle,,seemed normal,,didnt overheat wen up to operating temp.

This happened real sudden so hav no idea where it came from..,any help will be appreciated.

great christmas present lol

cheers guys

Ben

Alright, i jus talked to some friends and they think its the same,,does coolant have a bad effect on the carpet? Will this affect anything else and do i just need to replace the core?

shouldn't have a bad effect on the carpet other than making it smell like coolant. should affect anything else though. in the short term you can bypass the heater core until you get a chance to replace the heater core to prevent any further loss of coolant. to do this you need to disconnect the heater hoses that run from the engine to the heater core. generally you disconnect them where they meet ther firewall.

Were you using the air conditioning?

If you were, my bet is the condensation drain pipe is blocked up and the water overflowing into the cabin. To clean it, the drain pipe is under the car next to the chassis rail. You can give it a quick squirt of water from a hose and it'll dislodge anything that's blocked up into it. Should fix it for a short while or permenantly depending on how its blocked.

Cheers

Yehh it really smells like coolant now,,, are these hoses easy to reach? Im giving this a whole day tomorro to get it done, so i'll b egoing slow, lookin at everythin.. if i wanna disconnect them, do i do it from the engine bay or from the inside?

thanks for the replys guys

I did the bypass thing. Will keep it like this till after new years and i'll sort it out then,,not like a need a heater right now anyway lol.
