Stayed at my gf's last night and woke up this morning to find my 32 had been broken into. Just what i wanted to wake up to on christmas morning. i live in the malvern area, usually a very safe area and uncommon for this kind of stuff. It happened around 5am. Got my ipod stolen which isnt a big problem but they f**ked my lock on my door. My cars got an immobilser and alarm, which went off when they got in... My gf's mum saw the car, but couldnt see plates or anything.. said it was a loud silver sedan with 2 males.

Then this arvo... I was out the front of my house, and saw a really suspicious silver mitsubishi lancer, older model with a shit exhaust, too ethnic males in the car... They drove past my cousins 32 gtr and my 32... stopped, turned around and left. car meets the description which worries me they are going to try and steal the car tonight or in the coming time.

I heard that there was heaps of cars getting broken into last night in my area tho. 5 cars in Nyora street in East Malvern around the corner from my house were broken into. just wondering if anyone else had any problems last night??? Or has had any problems like it???

i would rather my car be stolen and torched and written off, then for someone to smash my window's attempt to steal my shit and end up costing me $$$ to fix. rather just get a payout and move on...

try blocking your 32 with another car so they dont steal it.

nah... i'd rather pay a few hundred to replace an ipod and a window or lock then have a car stolen, its not as nice as you think, you get investigated by insurance company, they take thier sweet time to pay you, after making you feel like a criminal... and then you pay $$$$$ more to insure your next car because of the theft claim, no one to blame.. so you loose the rating.

not to mention having to find yourself a new car!

no thanks, ... having said that...i would also hate my car to be broken into, not nice... especially around christmas time! sorry to hear mate

grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! f***ing basturds!!!!!! sleep in the damm thing so they will have to steal it with u in it... its amazing what this world is turning into, i mean its ur pride n joy n all pple wanna do is ruin that

ive had enough of these pricks, they broke in to my car last week and took my g/friends xmas stuff i had in the car so she would not see them befor i could wrap them, so f%^&ing pissed off and all the coppers could say is maybe you should get a better car and alarm. but then what could they do they are not everywhere at every second so i just have to cop it on the chin. sorry to hear mate what are you after to fix the car

that sucks dude, did u manage to get the rego of that car u saw? hope they catch those pricks

Nah, didnt catch the rego... was a lil drunk, so couldnt see the plates.

^^^^ LOL!! u could just hire chucky to do the deed

But seriously, it seems like the cops wont do anything these days about our cars getting nicked..but as soon as you whoop one of these guys asses, police spring into action, and you can get charged with assault..fkn stupid

bad things happen to good ppl

hahahahaha! now thats how its done, but even still prevention is the best defense, be smart bout where every1 parks their cars, alarms, immobilisers, insurance, nothing visually left in sight for theft... neighbourhood watch ftw lol :D

Sorry to hear of your bad luck mate, sounds like you need to give your gf's neighbours a heads up if only for their benefit so their stuff doesn't get jacked.

I manage an apartment block in the next street we have had people loitering in the foyer and also a burglary recently, it seems there are quite a few more of these instances lately.

My area is normally pretty good. But my bro's r34 was broken into a few months ago because he didn't take his gps off his windscreen so they broke the window and took it. Now both our cars are parked in the garage with my mums 4wd parked behind the overnight. Can't really trust anyone these days.

    • I clean my wheels every time I was the car, I also clean the barrels, the only product I use on the wheels is truck wash, followed by wash and wax, cleaning the barrels is easy with one of these microfibre thingies on a stick from Sabco, there also great for getting in between the front guards and body, and tight spots in the engine bay ย
    • An updated post here. Sounds to me like there's definitely a bit of sketchiness here.ย  Old mate with 10 rusting Torana's in the front yard might be more who they're focussed on. (For right or wrong).
    • Is this not just about people wrecking, and storing, multiple cars in their front yard? I now a tow truck driver that was contracted by the council to clean up housing commission front and rear yards in houses and unit car parks I'm all for working on, and doing maintenance on your car in your garage or driveway, but some people definitely take the pissย  There's one house locally to me that I walk past regularly where the front yard and driveway looks like a wreckers, multiple cars in various stages of being stripped, and the yard looks like all of fluids are basically dumped on the ground I may be wrong, but it seems that the initial reports, which I've seen nothing actually official about yet, may be getting taken out of context, like alot of the latest "the sky is falling" stuff found on the youtubes for clicks
    • have they? Link appreciated. I live in Casey. I can see both sides of the argument in this case. There's a lot of sketchy stuff going on. There needs to be a clear definition of what this is supposed to be IMO. I wager the intent was to be a broad sweeping brush against people who have 4 cars up on blocks on their front lawn, not someone who services their own car behind their own gate on a weekend bothering probably nobody. But it'd be hard to legislate the difference there.
    • Oh, the wheels were already off. I wouldn't normally take them off to clean them although it does make it easier with the ceramic, so I might take them off when reapplying. I don't drive much but now with the ceramic coat, when I do drive and they get dirty I can get most off with the pressure washer. I'll be switching to dirtier pads soon which was the motivation for the ceramic as I usually just clean them and sometimes use Autoglym wheel protector. Nah, f**k the barrels! Haha, I'll give them a quick scrub when they're off the car and a pressure wash, but even I draw the line with the barrels. Yes, dark coloured wheels allow you to get away with a lot! ย
