hey guys,

got my car back from gtech performance on thurseday, car is tuned on e85 fuel running a vipec ecu the car made 317.1 rwkw

they did get it to 328rwkw but wasnt very safe as there was a missfire anything over that and also injectors are at 85%.

good this is when u pop the bonnet you can hardly tell anything is done to it, apart from the big ass 50mm pro gate :D

car is not complete yet but safe to drive on this power level, will be going back there in February when they open up agian for bigger injectors, different ignition setup and another tune

lets see how she goes.

i will be putting standard supsension in the car soon enough, a set of slicks and taking it down the strip for some 1/4mile action.

heres a pik from there christmas party the other day, and also have just a sample video of the car (nothing major just a bit of up and down the street screaming)

ps. the r33 rims are only on the back as the 18s had wires hanging out and wasnt suitable for the dyno.

for the fuel setup i have 2 x bosch 044 fuel pumps, surge tank, 800cc injectors (or there abouts), surge tank, braided fuel lines in the boot, new fuel lines from boot to fuel rail, new fuel rail, vipec ecu, garrett gt3540, catch can setup,

and thats the basis really

e85 is only available at the hoppers crossing petrol station on old geelong road, pump number 10.

car is all over the road, but i cant even drive it really as i dont get my license back until 05/05

Ah nice work, I am thinking of upgrading to a surge tank, and considering replacing lines while im there, and mayb try e85 on a new tune. Do you need special ethanol injectors or pumps for e85? Or just a higher flowing system?

in regards to whether you need special injectors, im not sure, but as u can see i have 2 bosch 044 fuel pumps which u can get most places.

the thing to remember though is that e85 burn ALOT quicker.

not sure exactly, as i got it done as a packege mate.

nytsky - i know that e85 needs a much higher cc injector and there dyno is quiet a low reading dyno, but as i said its not complete 100% so everything will be sorted out in 6 weeks,

and as they say, a dyno should only be a tuning tool so im hanging to take out to calder/heathcote and see what mph/et i can get.

feels absolutely mental :D, couldnt be happier.

GT35 only made 320rwkw on E85? How much boost is being used?

I ask because you can virtually do that on PULP, with a 3076!

Regardless of the fact it is a low reading dyno - cause lets face it - every 2nd post says the dyno they used reads low these days.

Indeed take it to the track, i would imagine the MPH will match 320rwkw. However it should be 400++

you definately dont need to upgrade lines.

Seen plenty of cars make 450rwkw+ on factory Nissan lines. More about the fuel pump being decent :D

r31 nismoid, as i said, its having missfire issues and the tuning is not finished, also as i said dyno dont mean anything, its about the mph thats what im waiting for

the turbo is a gt3540 with the .64 rear and on 18psi boost

i run 323 rwkw on e85 on virtually the same boost and a smaller turbo...

as for fuel, 2 x 044's and a surge tank are not req'd (nice to have tho)

i run nismo 555 injectors, a nismo drop in fuel pump and stock fpr, lines, rail etc

What did the Vipec ECU set you back?

Vi-PEC plug-in ecu is $1881 inc GST

As a side note...

we put some new Injector Dynamics 1000cc jobbies in a completely standard car the other day...the Vi-PEC controlled them beautifully. At idle the AFR's didn't jump around at all, i reckon we could have put 2000cc ID injectors in and it would have been just as good. These new injectors we are getting out of the States are the latest technology and when driven by the Vi-PEC are very impressive indeed.

You might want to think about reading the post again, Bas stated the car IS NOT COMPLETE, 317kw is the current tune as they had injector issues, as for 400++ wow, stock bottom end, no worries :)

Did you read? There were no injector issues at all. 85% duty is not a worry... read on and you shall see why...

Now further detail is provided... a GT35 in .63 is pretty much at the limit @ 330rwkw miss firing aside. You'll also probably find the miss firing could also be induced by .63 rear.

It is horribly restrictive for that compressor.

There should not be issues with fuel because of the following...

1. 800cc/E85 is more than enough for 370rwkw+

2. Two Bosch 044's with E85 will support 400rwkw+

Given the above... You'll never reach those limits with a GT35/.63, so all is well and good. Leaves one issue. Miss firing.

Would likely be coil packs and/or plug choice, but i wouldn't be surprised as i said above, if it was indeed the rear housing choice playing a factor.

ALL ISSUES ASIDE, here is a little clip of what the car sounds like.

as i said, im extremelly happy with how it has turned out and cannot wait till its finished, so we will see what happens once i take it to calder.

Thats intersesting i would have thought that turbo be good for 380+ on E85 considering my little HKS 3037 .68 has seen 350 on numerous dyno's.

What mods are used to make this power? Have you done anything special to be able to run e85?

And where abouts do you you get e85 in melb from? Last I hered there were only 2 servos selling it.

The other servo that has e85 is fueltown(heading towards the city) next to southland on nepean hwy. Look for the big banner cant miss it.
